Warriors in 5

Lebron leads both teams in assists, and rebounds, but is outscored by Durant.

Klay has at least one game where he goes God-mode, and another game where he picks up a bunch of dumb fouls and becomes invisible.

Draymond will play like a man possessed and submit a strong case for Finals MVP, although it will ultimately go to KD.

***SPOILERS BELOW****

Game 1: Warriors by 7 (close till the very end)
Game 2: Warriors by 12
Game 3: Cavs by 5
Game 4: Warriors by 4 in OT
Game 5: Warriors by 23

STONE COLD LOCK PREDICTION: the MSB will be an absolute wasteland no matter what. People might get banned. People might get beat up at Sonic. It's gonna get ugly, folks, and I'm gonna love it.

Also likely:
- this thread gets bumped and rubbed in my face as soon as my flaming hot takes don't go exactly as planned. I accept this. I am equally as likely to bump it and rub it in all of your faces when all of this comes to pass.
- someone, when challenged, will offer an IRL bet for actual money
- someone will post in this or other NBA threads complaining about basketball being on their TV, most likely with the tag line, "This shite isn't over yet?!"
- someone will accuse Lebron of not being tough enough to play in the 90s
- someone will hate on the Warriors for being really, really good under the guise of other foolish arguments ("RAWR SUPER TEAMS!") even though that's the entire fricking purpose of sports. Some of these people will admit to being diehard Lebron/Heat fans which makes even less sense.
- As always, the Lebron fanboys and haters will continue to be equally insufferable and will vastly outnumber logical, level-headed posters.
- someone will hit me with a tl;dr almost immediately

And now, a brief word on the everlasting GOAT argument:

Regardless of who you think the greatest is, the line between "best ever" and "second best ever" is so thin and subjective that it's both A.) largely irrelevant B.) impossible to prove definitively. Have fun with it - it's why we're here, after all - but don't let it ruin what is sure to be a fun series, no matter how brief or lopsided it is sure to be. Unless he goes full-blown 2011 Finals, Lebron's resume isn't going to be damaged when this one's over.

Happy Finals season to all

Charles Barkley thinks a Finals win for the Cavs/LeBron would elevate LeBron to Kobe's status. I'm pretty sure Chuck posts here.

I down voted you, seriously.

Why? No reason, just felt like it. It's 2:30 on a Friday, about to head out to work early. My kids' pick on dinner, gonna head to BWW. Downvoting just felt right for some reason.

I look forward to picking up this thread later this evening, I'm sure it'll be a great read!!!

The Mount Rushmore of the NBA will never change!!!

And that, folks, is why just cause someone played in the NBA and is a HOFer, that does not mean their opinion on baseball means a darn thing.

Those guys overvalue the special insight that playing in the league has afforded them and simply attach that title to their opinions. They appeal to their own accomplishments.

They don't actually look at the numbers and make a rational judgment off of the relevant facts.

He has Oscar Robertson #2 all time, with 1 championship, but says LeBron is behind Kobe because 3<5, even though they'll be on the same tier at 4 and 5, respectively.

People have an incredibly difficult time separating the best players of all time and their favorite players of all time. I'm blessed that my favorite players of all time just so happen to be the best two players of all time too.

Kevin Durant continues to be terrified of LeBron, shrinks under the pressure. Cavs in 6

I keep hearing this, but doesn't Durant average like 29/7/3 on almost 50% shooting against Lebron teams? That's pretty fricking good.

Is that good for KD?

ETA: Nvm. I didn't realize how little he assists and that he's an >50% shooter for his career.

Well he's never really been a "point forward" the way Bron has

Aside from that their head-to-head numbers are damn near identical, with Lebron having a slight edge.

Certainly nothing that screams "KD is terrified"

To be honest, that's the only thing I'm counting on right now. ESPN has a sobering article on the analytics of this series. It zapped me back into reality; the Cavs are behind the eight ball.

I'm banking that Steph continues to be something less than his normal self vs the Cavs, while KD shrinks. If everything remains as it is right now, I can't see the Cavs winning.

But that's what happens in high leverage situations, sometimes players inexplicably shrink and others thrive.

This is where Lebron cements his legacy. Do the impossible like Ali did vs Liston and then Foreman.

-Cleveland and Oakland will combine for a disappointing amount of good looking women outside celebs and steph currys mom

-abc will show us an ungodly amount of commercials for terrible summer movies that not many will ever see

-Draymond kicks
-lebron dunks
-klay bricks

-if you watch the game with company at least one person will talk football and the upcoming season
;;
another will chime in and say basketball never calls traveling

-traveling will be called 5 times

-this board will melt either way
