Players will use the NBA facilities at the Pacers arena and then go play in Hinkle. I I think it is pretty cool given the historic nature of the building and how close you will be if you can get tickets. Beats a 18,000 seat arena with wide concourses if you are sitting in an upper-deck.

I've grown to like the cup. The games count in the regular season standings and there's a big money bonus for winning. They are legit NBA games.

I’d think places like Chapel Hill and Lawrence don’t really care a ton about the NBA cup. With Hinkle, they get to stay in an NBA city and explore their own “Field of Dreams” game so to speak. Maybe The Palestra could be used in the future.
