Congrats Russell Westbrook for disrupting an NBA history of precedent to win the MVP with your triple-double performance on a 47 win team in an NBA MVP campaign that didn't even include LeBron as top 3 despite his 26-8-8 regular season performance and 33-9-8 playoff performance in leading the Cavs to 51 wins and the Finals appearance. Now triple-double achievers are currently capable of winning MVPs henceforth. Go now and prosper.

I hate to break this to you, but the MVP award has nothing to do with the playoffs.

CC won 3 other awards, the voters didn't want all the awards to go to players from the same team so they didn't favour James for MVP. If they had won 65 games it wouldnt have mattered but this wasn't even CCs best season in the last two years.

More than 3 times as many first place votes for Russ

Iirc I called Gordon to win 6th man before the season even started. And coach d before the midway point. Overall a solid night for my projections.

I mean as a Rocket fan, I have said multiple times I have no issue with Russell winning it but this board is consumed by that guy

Rockets GM Daryl Morey was second to Warriors Bob Myers in the Executive of the Year voting. Myers led Morey by 2 first-place votes.
Daryl was oh so close. prob a little voter fatigue here too.

The moment you realize Russ had 69 1st place votes and whoever else was 2nd only had 22

Regular season teams win regular season awards, amirite?
Posted on 6/26/17 at 11:34 pm to TxWadingFool
Combined Wins in the western conference finals in the last three seasons
HOU > SAS
but Spurs have a lot more regular season wins.
If that doesn't clear up who is the regular season team idk what would
