Wow that was bad. I hate it because I'm a Chaka Khan fan, too. She just doesnt have it anymore.
Funny part is, Gladys Knight, who is 9 years older than Chaka, sung the national anthem at the Superbowl last year and sounded absolutely amazing.

I just don't understand why people can't just go out there and sing the National Anthem like it's supposed to be sung. "Ohh... I have an idea... I'll add my own flourish to it. People will love it." Has that EVER worked out well?
Here's what you do. Before you sing it, find a youtube video of Sandi Patti or Whitney Houston or Gladys Knight or Aretha Franklin (maybe not the 8 minute long version) singing it. Sing it like that. The End.
