I think I finished 4th overall, 3rd on the playoffs.

It was my first year in the league, and it took me a while to figure out the rules and strategy.

I had just gotten used to Yahoo had a strategy and it blew up when the playoffs reset
I had saved all the top 5 guys to have 5 plus starts in playoffs

Wasn’t Hendrick in trouble legally about his dealerships at one time?

That's exactly where I was. Figure out Yahoo, then switch to this league, and was a little bit behind.

I just saw the thread title and clicked on the last post. I didn't read the thread or anything.
I always tell myself I'm going to watch it and then I usually end up forgetting. So I'm going to watch it next week (of course, it'll conflict with LSU Baseball ... sigh).

He was indicted on a federal bribery charge or something like that. I can’t exactly remember who it was he supposedly bribed
I may be misremembering though.

I think he was paying Honda to get more than his allocated share of the more desirable models.

Mail fraud. Honda execs were asking for bribes for 'favorable product disbursement". Hendrick obliged, in the form of hundreds of thousands. Got off with a fine and house arrest because of his leukemia.

Just looked it up
Never knew that
quote:
In 1997, Hendrick pleaded guilty to mail fraud.[6] In the 1980s, Honda automobiles were in high demand and Honda executives allegedly solicited bribes from dealers for larger product disbursements. Hendrick admitted to giving hundreds of thousands of dollars, BMW automobiles, and houses to American Honda Motor Company executives.[7] Hendrick was sentenced in December 1997 to a $250,000 fine, 12 months' home confinement (instead of prison, due to his leukemia), three years probation, and to have no involvement with Hendrick Automotive Group (which was run by Jim Perkins) or Hendrick Motorsports (run by his brother John) during his year of confinement. In December 2000, Hendrick received a full pardon from President Bill Clinton.
