Its happened before. I think Saint Mary's got left out with 29 wins a few years ago
They have no one to blame but themselves. Had chances on a neutral floor vs. a mediocre Michigan State team and lost. Got Oklahoma State at home and lost.

Yep once the refs determined that any contact on a Wichita State player, even if its the breath that comes out of the mouth of an Illinois State player that makes contact with a Wichita State player, is a foul, it was over
Illinois State can enjoy the NIT I guess. They have gotten so close to the NCAA tourney so many times the past decade and fall just short.

I get the Wichita State hate, but anybody saying they don't belong in the tournament is a moron. They lost to Mich St, Lousiville, & OSU all before December 15th after losing a combined 150 starts to graduation.
This team has progressively gotten better every week. They will finish inside the top 15 of the KenPom for the 6th straight year, something only KU and L'ville can lay claim to. They are 9-4 in the tournament over the last 4 years. If any mid-major has proved they belong regardless of conference, it's a Gregg Marshall coached WSU team.

Ive seen Wichita State fans using this garbage argument all week. Michigan State is a team of all freshman too. Oklahoma State started off really slow this year too and breaking in a new coach. To claim that both Michigan State and Oklahoma State were operating at peak efficency and were ultra experienced teams at the time is stupid. Plus they got them on neutral/home floors.
Fact of the matter is that if Illinois State gets left out, which they probably will, Wichita State will have zero wins over tournament teams. So why should any team fear them.

My point isn't that those teams weren't full strength, it's that WSU is a much better team heading into March 15 than they were on December 15. Do you disagree?
Scared may not be the right word, but anyone saying they want to see WSU as an early round matchup on their side is lying to themselves.

As I posted on the Rant, Jerry Palm is an idiot at projections for the NCAA Tourney and Bowl Games. I don't know how that hack keeps a job.

I also find your "wins over tournament teams" point not necessarily irrelevant, but certainly not critical. There are plenty of teams who fit that bill and it doesn't do shite for them in the tournament.
It's the same argument WSU has faced every year pre-tourney though and they just keep prooving themselves. Will be interesting to see if they can do the same this year.
