Good for them. They play hard. Goes to show anybody with limited resources can win with the right coach and execution

Intent does not matter with the rule. He did not slide in a direct path to the bag and both his feet kicked the fielder. By both of those standards he should be called for the slide rule interference.
I think the rule needs to be adjusted (ie Alex Milazzo slide from last season) but if they are going for player safety, if you hit a fielder outside the path of the bag it should be interference.

Sorry, but "egregious" is not one of the requirements of the rule. It was an intentional act by the runner to interfere with the fielder's making the play.
The slide was not a "normal" slide and that is ALL that has to be determined.
The runner undertook the risk of that being called by doing what he did. The fact that it had such grievous consequences is NOT a factor on whether it was the right call.
It was absolutely the right call under the rules of baseball.
