re: Miami Hurricanes vs Texas A&M and the 12th Man.
Posted by truth22 on 12/9/25 at 12:27 am to Go Go Gata
Don't hold your breath. After the poor performance in Austin, I'm just waiting for the other shoe to drop.
I think we're distracted by Klein leaving, even though I don;t really care about him. But that seems to be the same situation at least half these teams are in.
If we win, I'll be excited to play OSU, but I'm not betting on it.

A&M hopefully.
We're kind of tied up with Playoff stuff now, sorry.
OU
Miami
Ole Miss
Oregon
Give me Tech to win it all- they have the best path, and I think they can handle GA

We don't have any data points to know how they would do against a team with top tier recruiting talent.
True, but Oregon did play at Texas Tech in 2023 and kicked a FG to go up 31-30 in the final minute. (they then intercepted a pass and ran it into end zone for final of 38-30.)
Tech was up 27-18 at beginning of 4th Qtr.
That Duck team finished 11-1. Tech didn't have nearly the team it has now, and finished the year 6-6.
I think Tech is going to run over Oregon.

No, I think it's about $100,007.50
Oh wait, you DID include the hookers. Yeah, $100,000.
It's the intangibles I like about them- they have great team chemistry and coaching. Everyone is 100% bought in and rowing in the same direction. Absolutely no prima donnas or mercenaries.
And most of their leaders are guys that came up organically in the system- not newcomer studs. For instance, the LB that will prob be in the Heisman room transferred over a few years ago as a walk-on QB.
The QB signed there out of high school four years ago.
Their two running backs were 2nd and 3rd string (and one coming off an injury year) when their top RB went out before game 1.

I said back in Sept they would probably be in the national championship game.
Seeing the brackets, I think it will be Tech v Georgia for the national championship, and Tech wins.

This is such a silly take. If Texas is 10-2 they are in and we all know it, partially for reasons yall hate (Texas is a media darling and gets views).
what wussie whiners.
Bama also lost to a team first week, and that team turned out shitty. But you know WHAT?????
Bama DID something about it! They actually started playing really good football because they are a good team.
You are not. Texas played like losers most the year, and looked like it 'til they became a national joke.
Whining like y'all do shows everyone exactly who Texas is. what an embarrasmemt.

Do the oddsmakers know Indiana has to play someone not from the Big Ten?
BYU win pushes ND out.
Since no one gave a shite abiut Texas entering, I'd love to see Clemson, FL State and Georgia Tech.

Fact is, LSU is walking a more precarious path than OM. I believe Kiffin is literally a sociipath, and the LSU environment is gas on his pilot light.
Just a matter of time...

It's threads like this where yiu can really tell the serious football posters from the idiot aholes.
thanks for the clarity, y'all.

just curious- since when did losing to any team not matter? hiw bout losing to two? how about losing to three? hiw about eacaping in OT to the two worst teams in conference.
We're trying to criwn a national champ here- run along now.

Moot...because Texas isn't getting in.
True. But in true texas fashion, they need to be the center of attention, no matter how stupid it makes them look.
I would melt hard- not because texas u is in (i woukd love to rematch if possible) but because it would show the depths of sordid politics or outright graft that the Committee has sunk to.

If Ole Miss let's any single person that is planning to leave for LSU near their program, they are making a huge mistake.
Their's something a lot more at stake here, and they should take the path of honor.
Don't care if the entire fu&&! staff leaves.

Having 1 really solid OOC game a year (or at least planning to when you schedule it) is not unique. Most of the league attempts to do it
Yep. A&M traveled to play the defending national champ runner up. Difference is we won our game, and we didn't lose any games to lower tier teams (other than 1).

so when bama and ole miss were lobbying to get in last season it was different? ....There are always teams who fight to get in.... Stop being overly dramatic.
oh the irony about dramatics! You don't even notice the difference between lobbying for the perceived strength of your team vs threatening to take your ball and go home and cancel a scheduled game if you don't get your way!
y'all really are pathetic pussies.
This is SOOOOOOO the Texas we warned you guys about. Fairness and the same rules for everyone does NOT apply to the teasips.
As they were so proud to proclaim 20 years ago through their AD DeLoss Dodds "others try to keep up with the Joneses; we ARE the Joneses!"
What they are is assholes.
