While we're at it Peej, why don't you look at the free throw disparity between Wisky and UK last night, since that matters so much to you

Wisc: 18/22
Kentucky: 9/10

RIGGED!!!!!

A bunch of Duke's free throws came in the last two minutes when MSU kept fouling out of desperation to prolong the game.

Oh please.............

Yes I watched the whole game... And MSU really had no chance driving into the lane cause Duke would maul them and no fouls would be called... And Duke knew they could do what they wanted on their end knowing that anytime a MSU player even touched them a whistle would blow....

Facts are facts..........

Plus I saw at least 5 times that Okafor would camp in the lane for at least 5-6 seconds.... Shame on the duke loving refs.............

" Assuming things pan out right tomorrow, they (UW) would have defeated UNC, Arizona, Kentucky, and Duke... all in a row. What a run that would be."
**********************************************************************************.... IF it does work out ... certainly could not argue with that .. I mean, they would have friggin' EARNED that MNC , no doubt about it .. major to the Badger Nation if that goes down ,,,

I know this is your shtick, and you are just trolling. Regardless, this is a ridiculous argument from last night's game.

1. Duke won by 20 and was up by 20 for half of the second half. Refs don't have a 20 point impact.

2. Duke had higher effective field goal percentage (.540 vs. .465). They took 5 more two point shots and 10 less three pointers. The refs aren't making them shoot better and take higher percentage shots.

3. They had a lower turnover rate (10.8 vs 18.4), and a higher offensive rebounding rate (23.3 vs 21.6). In other words, Duke was getting more possessions, and when they did miss shots, they were more likely to get an ORB. The refs aren't making MSU more careless with the ball and worse at rebounding.

Now the free throw disparity is deceiving as well.

1. MSU typically takes fewer free throws than their opponents. In fact, they were one of the worst in the country (338th) in opponent free throw attempts, and they weren't especially great at getting to the line themselves (101st). Excluding their two Duke loses, they shot 8.2 fewer FTs per game than their opponents at the in the other 10 loses. Only once in those 10 loses did they have more FTAs.

2.Duke (I know you will blame the refs) is good at getting to the free throw line (10th) and also fairly good at preventing opponents from getting to the line (41st). Duke is better at getting to the line--with the big front court and athletic players that is usually the case.

3.Last night, Duke shot 10 FTs in the last 3:35 seconds of the game but only had 3 FGAs during that time (3 easy lays ups). In fact, starting with the 2 FTs that put them up 20 at 13:30, they shot 21 FTs compared to 7 for MSU.
Basically, in the last 14 minutes, with Duke already up 18, they shot 14 more free throws than MSU. So through the first 26 minutes of the game, Duke built an 18 points lead with a 16 to 9 FTA advantage. It's hard to say that the refs and the FT discrepancy had anything to do with it.
