Pistons vs. Rockets on ESPN. Empty seats everywhere. What a joke. Move the team to Seattle to become the Sonics, history included, and leave the Rockets history in Houston for a potential expansion team or if the Thunder want to relocate.

Seattle lost a team due to a piece of shite NBA commissioner and a supposedly too small arena (before the current trend of smaller arenas). Seattle has a new, larger arena. No more excuses for the NBA.

Houston is the 4th largest market in the US. Won't happen.

It’s not the 4th largest market. It isn’t the largest market in the state of Texas.

They're a bad team. There's only a few teams in the league that get decent attendance even when the team is playing for the lottery.

I just watched 5 min and it was more missed shots in a nba game I’ve ever seen
There’s some bad play in the nba from the bottom teams
Do they even try to compete

Even with the Rockets being the worst team in the league at the moment, in a tank year, and after last year’s tank, they’re still right in the middle of average attendance, right behind the Brooklyn Nets:

Thanks for playing.

Pels might've had 15,000 total at the last 3 games but what the hell must Pacers games look like.

Sonics were the first NBA team to average over 20,000 fans a game in a season. The attendance numbers you show for Houston are similar to what forced scumbag David Stern to move the Sonics, despite a smaller arena in Seattle at the time.

It really should be OKC that is forced to move, but if we are playing David Stern games, then the Rockets should move.

I don’t know the details of why the Sonics moved, and I don’t care.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it was more complex than that.

It was! OKC hosted the NOLA Hornets due to the hurricane and Stern promised to reward them. He tried to get Seattle to replace their less than 10 year old arena with a palace like they did the Mariners and Seahawks, and when Seattle refused, the team was gone. The arena was fine, the fan support great, but David Stern is a piece of shite who is burning in hell right now.

I don't want the Rockets to leave. Instead the Thunder should move back to Seattle. The idea of leaving a city like that with billions in corporate money and a lot of wealthy people for a podunk town like OKC is crazy.

Seattle Sonics attendance ranks in their last seasons in the NBA:

2008: 28th
2007: 25th
2006: 23rd
2005: 21st
2004: 23rd
2003: 20th
2002: 21st

Yeah, they were really filling the seats.

NBA franchises are printing money machines. No team is moving because of attendance.
