I live in Atlanta, I'm not a Falcons fan, and I can tell you that they have a ton of fans in this city. The only team more popular is the Braves.

So you are saying the game was sold out?

Selling out the day of the game is not impressive. Sorry.

the fact that a team coming of a NFC Championship appearance has to sell single game tickets in the 1st place in a city the size of atlanta blows my mind

Selling out is selling out. It doesn't matter if it's the day of the game or a several weeks early. Football tickets are expensive, and in this economy a lot of people can't afford them. Especially when you can watch the game in HD on a huge TV in the comfort of your own home with friends and much cheaper beer...

You can laugh. I live here...right in the middle of the city. You don't. I'm fairly certain that I know the City of Atlanta better than you.

1) Braves have average attendance and don't fill their stadium

2) I was comparing the Falcons to the Saints, was I not? Saints have a 30,000 person waiting list...

No room for making sense CatFan. It's not impressive if you have a sell out crowd, unless your the Saints

having tickets available the day of a playoff game is pathetic, especially for a city the size of Altanta.

Saying that the falcons aren't as popular as the braves isn't exactly a good way to defend the falcons. Braves fill up like 60% of their stadium and are around 15th in attendance

They also have the 4th largest stadium in the MLB and the Ted is in an awful place for attendance.

If the Georgia Dome was in the northern Suburbs their attendance would be much better.

Well, that's good? Apparently Atlanta has 60,000 on theirs...

The Redskins have 150,000 on theirs. The Packers 105,000. The Giants 135,000... A lot of teams have waiting lists.

I still don't see how having a sold out crowd isn't impressive.

And I didn't say any comparison to the Braves, so your talking to the wrong person.

60,000 on wait list and single game tickets sold out on the same day they went up.

the Falcons waitlist is fictional. You can get tickets the 1st year and cheap tickets at that. Falcons fans agree

My cousin got terrace seats the 1st year on it

I was just going by what I read.

Either way, the Saints wait list isn't impressive compared to a lot of the wait lists.

How foolish it is that every seat in the stadium isn't for season ticket holders? Every team sells season tickets AND individual game tickets.

Why does this thread exist? It is and always will be the Packers. After them, you have the Chiefs. There is a big drop off after that.

fricking Saints fans thinking they are the most loyal and/or supportive fanbase in the NFL. The NFL existed long before 2005 kids.

FWIW, as of last month the Saints season ticket waiting list was at 70,000. And unlike the Falcons waiting list, it actually exists.

Every home game except one has been sold out since 2000, and the waiting list for season tickets now stands at 70,000 - which would almost fill the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, according to Senior Vice President of Sales Mike Stanfield.

I know for a fact that the packers and saints don't sell individual game tickets

quote:

The New Orleans Saints have been sold out on a season-ticket basis since the beginning of the 2006 season. As such, individual tickets are not available to purchase at this time. The best place to purchase individual tickets would be at NFL Ticket Exchange at NFL.com powered by Ticketmaster. NFL Ticket Exchange at NFL.com powered by Ticketmaster is a service for current season ticket holders and other fans that enables them to re-sell their tickets to games they cannot attend.

I am not even sure how this thread became about a Falcons Saints thread. No one is actually arguing that the Falcons fans are as loyal as the Saints.

But if anyone thinks the Saints are more loyal than Green Bay, or the Falcons are less loyal than the Jaguars, then they are a fool.
