but hey what if a kid wants to go to 5a west monroe....he doesnt make the baseball team, but he is good enough to play at oak grove and he already has been told he would get an out of zone...should he not be able to transfer?
Posted on 2/26/26 at 2:10 pm to LSUFanHouston
oh and on the college thing...so regular students can transfer but if a student athlete does...its wrong and he is no longer a student?
you realize there are other divisions outside of just P4 right?

Again, this situation is exceedingly rare. The vast majority of transfers in the LHSAA are the result of cuts, lack of playing time, etc.
5a Select playoff team last year lost 2 starters to a 2a private school team this baseball season. It happens more than you think.

yea thats it
you dont know shite about me or my kids
my kids have nothing to do with this and are not affected either way
god forbid i have an opinion that me as lsu777 might not know whats best for some kid and his family when it comes to school when they live in nola. god forbid

One thing LHSAA could do to increase transparency is release the details of what violations schools have when sanctioned, but leave the minors names out of it.
When an AD has 35 incomplete student athlete packets or coach played 7 ineligible players the parents and the other schools need to know so there is no “my child’s team got robbed over a clerical error”

No I've laid out my argument. You want everything perfect for your kids and don't get a frick who you run-over to get it for your kids. It is very liberal for you. You can't see the forest for the trees. But it has been that way for years with you on here. Whether its travel ball, or working out or school choice it literally checks every box of a plant baw.

how many times do you have to hear this...these rules do not affect my kids either way bro. has nothing to do with my kids. my kids are eligible no matter which of the two schools i send them too
why is that so hard to image.
and again...where my kids go to school doesnt affect other schools.

oh yea so liberal of me not to want government telling everyone whats best for their family

yea you hate travel ball because how dare someone leave me behind and seek something better
same with school and school choice
but yea its me just being a plant baw. you realize just because i work in a plant doesnt mean i work in the unit and im not an operator right?
but explain to me how school choice is bad, how travel ball is bad
your argument was...they left us behind for a better situation. thats not an argument for something. its bitterness and wanting to control others.

It's Proposal II-1
Like I mentioned earlier, it was amended by one of the Executive Committee members to clarify that this rule would have the same effect on first time 7/8th graders entering an LHSAA school.

You are missing the whole concept of high school sports. It is a group of kids who grew up together to represent a community to compete against other schools/communities. It isn't about what is best of each individual kid. That is what summer ball is for. There has to be integrity in the sport. Kids not transferring keeps that integrity. Fair competition between schools. That is what high school sports represents. Not buying players and going where you can play because you weren't good enough at the school you grew up at.
If a parent has to change jobs and they up and move then by all means. That is part of life. But not just "I don't like it here, let me go somewhere else". That isn't what high school sports is or ever has been.

As someone in the world, this is a pretty naive stance.

exactly and its hurt plenty of kids....it might not have hurt me or you but this isnt about that.
they have had posters in this thread where they have said its hurt them.
you think im misisng the point, anything but. you are missing my points
1) i dont want to tell, nor do i want the government(in any form including lhsaa) where a kid should have to attend school especially if the school he wants to go to is willing to take him. Thats for the parents, the kid, the family and the principle to decide.
2) getting the one time transfer rule clears a major hurdle for school choice which im very very very much for. Im a firm believer that the money should follow the kid, no strings attached, and that schools should compete. I believe competition brings out the best in every one...not being forced because of some made up lines. i believe the cream will rise to the top.
pretty simple
in the end doesnt matter. the freshman eligibility rule will help but the state legislature is going to force it.

as are all the people in the thread making it seem like its so hard to get out of zone approved. maybe in a few locations but not most of them.

they got over it. Life is full of adversity. It is a good thing.

Transfer. Then sit out a year. If it isn't worth sitting out it isn't worth going. It is that simple. You want your cake and eat it too.
