Molton maybe Tech bound

MOLTON MAY BE TECH BOUND: Wide receiver Tim Molton, a freshman redshirt from Destrehan, has left the team, according to LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette.


Molton was the talk of spring football by Miles as he was expected to move into one of the vacant receiver spots since Brandon LaFell and Terrance Toliver were the only returning veterans with significant playing time logged. Molton, who was a favorite target of LSU starting quarterback Jordan Jefferson at Destrehan High, caught two passes for 35 yards in the spring game.


But Molton badly injured a knee in seven-on-seven drills last June and was lost for the season. Molton is considering a transfer to Louisiana Tech, which has received his release from LSU, according to the Shreveport Times. Tech is on the quarter system and did not start classes until Thursday. Molton has until Monday or possibly as late as Sept. 22 to enroll at Tech.
