I was high on Borbon for a while... then very meh. If Gentry can develop his bat a bit more, he could be a good one to have.

I think the Rangers are more complete than the Angels at this point. Not by much though.

I agree. There are a couple of missing pieces. But I don't know that there is another team in the league that's as close to being complete.

Need another starter and another speed guy off the bench then maybe.

Yankees, Angels and Giants are close to being what I would call "complete" teams as well. Everybody needs something though.

Angels - 3B + solid reliever
Yankees - starter + speed off the bench
Giants - power bat + bullpen help

I agree. It's going to be interesting to see where Hamels and Greinke go. I think either would be another rental for the Rangers.

I just don't want to have my heart broken again. The WS was harder for me than 1/9.

Brett Myers is a really interesting case...

I, (and I'm assuming the majority of this board) wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole, but...

He's got 21 saves out of 23 opportunities, would potentially be a decent set up guy for the money, and he's at the end of his contract so he shouldn't cost that much. You'd have to think that non-traditional contenders would at least take a look at him.

What do my Stros want in return??? RELIEF PITCHING

I think the Angels are getting closer. Not quite there. Obviously there is a big hole at 3B, although Callapso has been decent this year. I think that once Tuan Jr. can get his shite together that Catcher will be a strong point.

Bottom line is that the AL West, despite the Astros joining it next year, will be very competitive in the next 4 to 5 years. Oakland has a ton of potential to be a force here soon.

Yeah, I was talking about that with someone the other day. I think they'll rival the AL East, but the AL East will still be the AL East in terms of $$$$$$$$$$.

cliff lee is long-shot backup plan for #rangers. but w/ $98M thru '15, that contract now a nightmare.

Still love Cliff, but don't want to touch that contract.

Yeah, screw that contract.

I have a feeling that that Angels and Rangers end up not making any deadline deals.

When/if Gardner gets back, he'll help some but who knows when that'll be. We do need someone though.

I have no idea what they'll do with pitching. I'd like Hamels but I don't think they'll do it. Cash seems pretty intent on getting below the luxury tax.

Supposed to have a MRI soon, right? I need him to get healthy. My Fantasy team misses him.

Laugh at CJ but he still has a better ERA than anyone on your squad. Also you should be more worried about Yu and his escalating ERA once teams see him more than once. Also, you might want to compare your RF's stats to Hunters.

Who gives a shite? You're still 5.5 games back. Not really concerned at this point. And if the Rangers can manage a soul crushing sweep (similar to what happened last year), that might just put this bitch to bed.

Meh...Beltre with that .965 fielding percentage just isn't that impressive to me.

Holy frick...do you watch baseball?

I hope you're being sarcastic. He's had a couple of terrible throwing errors but he gets to everything. I'd like to see his UZR. He probably has one of the best UZR's in the MLB.

Simply put, the Rangers problem is, to a certain extent, an overrated offense that doesn't have many contact guys and has too many strike outs.

Washington's infatuation with Young kills the lineup. Napoli/Torrealba aren't very good hitters consistently. Kinsler has also been stinking it up with his league average OBP.

But I disagree with mostly everything Quidam said.

The farm system is one of the best in baseball.

I believe so. Even if he comes back I don't think he'll do much. That shite nags at you for a bit.

Side note: fricking girardi needs to quit the "1 game at 3rd, 1 game at DH, day off" rotation for bitch tits. He can't get any rhythm.

When Beltre is on his game, he's easily one of the best in the biz. Dude can play some 3rd.

The response was in regards to dumb arse Quidam and his points. I am well aware of where the Angels currently are in the standings.

They were pretty terrible. The guy seems nice, but he posts some terrible things. CJ has been outstanding this year...but I'm not sure what he will do for you in October (yes, I think you're going to be in the playoffs).

Beltre is amazing. He's a very good hitter, but damn he's amazing in the field.

UZR is a terribly flawed stat, but I agree. Beltre may be the best defensive 3B in baseball.

I love watching Beltre play 3B. Love the way he slings it too.

In regards to Gardner, I don't think he plays this year.
