Thanks.

Sometimes people just pick a sabermetric stat and try and pass it off as some important piece of information while having no idea what it even means

•Dempster will consider trades to a number of teams, including the Braves and Dodgers, if the Cubs approach him with a deal in place, Bruce Levine of ESPNChicago.com reports. "He has not said that he wouldn't go to Atlanta or anywhere else for that matter," a person familiar with the situation told Levine.
This is bullshite.

Latest on the Giants:

quote:

@jonmorosi If #Phillies decide to make Hunter Pence available, #SFGiants expected to make a push. They want a RH-hitting OF bat.

What would it take to get Pence? Would Schierhotlz and a minor-league bullpen arm do it?

quote:

@jonmorosi #SFGiants and #Angels among teams that have shown interest in #Mariners righty Brandon League, sources say.

frick this. League is garbage, IMO.

His #s after he lost his closing job haven't been horrible.

The 29-year-old has a 2.98 ERA with 5.3 K/9, 3.8 BB/9 and a 45.1% ground ball rate in 42 1/3 innings for Seattle. He lost the closer's job in May, but has pitched to a 1.71 ERA with twice as many strikeouts as walks since the beginning of June. His fastball averages 95.2 mph, according to FanGraphs

I try not to talk about things I know nothing about.

That doesn't make me any less stupid, though.

Guess the Rangers will be going all in on Josh Johnson.

Weaver, Wilson, Greinke, Haren is pretty damn sick.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports that that the Marlins and Rangers are still "heavy in talks" regarding Josh Johnson.

Not only is it Profar they are asking for, supposedly they want Olt as well. Unless they are including Stanton as well, that is just majorly stupid. Even then, I wouldn't include Profar.
You like to overrate your own players.

You wouldn't trade Olt and Profar for Johnson and Stanton? There are still questions as to whether Olt will stuggle to put the ball in play at the major league level.

Well they gave up Hellweg and Pena with Segura. Hope they can sign him to a deal.

Profar is the #1 prospect in the minors. Just look at what everyone is saying about him. He is a Bryce Harper/Mike Trout kind of talent. Did the Nats or Angels even think about trading those guys? Hell no.

Olt is the #11 ranked prospect. He could be the centerpiece in a deal for pretty much any tradable player in the league. The Rangers also have enough talent to put together a very nice package to get multiple very good players in a deal without depleting their farm.

The Rangers farm system, at this point in time, is light years better than the Angels. Even if the Rangers trade for multiple players, they will still have a better farm system than the Angels.

Rangers refused to part with Olt I guess.

Angels HAD to make this move. Just had to.

Not mad at all. I didn't really think my post had any anger in it. Does this suck that the Angels got Grienke? Yes. But I still suspect that JD has something up his sleeve.
