#Stlcards Jordan Hicks has Type-1 diabetes. He's opted out of the 2020 season. Becuase he has what both MLB/PA agree is a pre-existing condition he receives both salary and service time. The latter is huge. He has 2 yrs of service and will move to 3, which makes him arb eligible

Byron Buxton had to be carted off the field Monday in Minnesota after suffering an apparent injury to his left leg or ankle.

Buxton appeared to get tangled up while tracking down a Nelson Cruz fly ball that landed shy of the warning track in right-center. He was down on the ground for several minutes before being helped into a cart and heading off with a group of trainers. The 26-year-old center fielder has had terrible luck with injuries throughout his professional career, and it looks like this could be another serious setback.

Among the details from the new agreement, per Rosenthal: All vesting options for 2021 will vest at their full amounts, the thresholds for the options to vest will be prorated, thresholds for bonuses will be prorated, roster bonuses will be paid at prorated amounts, postseason bonuses will be paid at full amounts, and days spent on the COVID-19 injured list will count as roster days for bonus purposes. This should cover the remaining financial minutiae that had to be settled.

4 bids left for the Mets

Cohen
A-Rod/J Lo
Josh Harris
“Unidentified group”

I don’t see how it isn’t Cohen. A-Rod and J Lo aren’t even worth 750 million combined and he has like 50 investors for a bid that is still allegedly 300 million less than Cohen.

Zero reason for Hicks to play

He was going to go to Minors to start the season and build up strength in his arm.

Plus, i want him 2 years off tommy, not year 1. Let him throw a little at home and be 100% fit for 2021

I think there’s a few reasons why some of Mets current ownership doesn’t want SAC
1) he’s a criminal
2) he wants to Wilpons out
I’m under the assumption the A Rod Deal will steak keep the Wilpons on board for 5 or so years after the purchase is finalized?

I don’t see how it won’t short of some MLB/Wilpon frickery. It’s time the Mets start spending like a big market team.

As I’ve said after I edited
This right here could keep him out
The MLB would much rather A Rod and Co be involved with the Mets than SAC

Eleven MLB umps have exercised their right to opt out of (or otherwise decided not to participate in) the 2020 season, Jon Heyman of MLB Network reports on Twitter.

I don’t think the other owners would. MLB itself

That said, A Rod will need to come up with 500 more washed up athletes to put up $200k Cohen could buy J-Lo if he wanted. The money isn’t even close

I think they would (when putting them next to SAC)
They made sure Cuban wouldn’t buy the Cubs.
SAC is worse

Let me clarify— they don’t prefer A-Rod over Cohen if it means the Mets sell for 1.7 billion instead of whatever Cohen will pay (allegedly 2.0 now— was 2.6 in February). Hell, he’s said he’d pay 2 for the Mets and 2 for SNY

Eh.
It’s basically the same as Jeter “owning” the Marlins
The guy with the money is Jim Cantelupe and Summit Trail Advisors LLC.
I’d much rather SAC. As would Mets fans

But it really doesn’t matter since the Wilpons are the ones selling
SAC also wants to buy SNY (where the real money is) but don’t think that’s for sale

From what I’ve read A-Rod would be the main money guy with a bunch of small time other athletes chipping in money. It’ll never work.

The Wilpons would prefer A Rod get the Mets for 1.7
And SNY stay with them
I also think the owners would rather have to deal with Summit Advisors and Arod than SAC

Much easier to deal with, especially a guy that’s as successful as SAC.

But all of the Marlins bids were close with Jeter's group making the best offer.

I see it’s
AROD/ Viola/Repole
Viola and Repole have much more money to offer
