Why would Nashville work better than Charlotte?

Charlotte is larger and has more people but Nashville would support a team better. Just looking at Titans vs Hornets to see this

NC is a huge baseball state. More so than TN I would argue. The problem will be converting generational Braves fans to whatever the franchise would be. I’m not sure you can accomplish that and then you end up with a Rays type of situation where the majority of people going to games are there for the other team

Agreed. MLB and NBA both need to contract down to 24 teams.

I mean look at New Orleans, Las Vegas, etc... it is easy to convert "fans" when they have a local team to root for. What's harder is keeping them interested and coming back while your team struggles

NC is a bigger basketball state than baseball and they don’t support the Hornets.

Nashville meanwhile supports the Preds very well.

Yea. Nashville is going to get a team and maybe Montreal or Portland.

I don’t know if it’s true that it’s easy to convert fans to a local team. I’m from Baton Rouge for example and have never cared about the Pelicans. I used the Rays as an example because they’re similar to Charlotte in that the majority of the town is populated with transplants. It would take a few decades and a generation of kids raised on the local team for the new franchise to really take hold because of the long time Braves fandom from locals and then whoever the transplants have rooted for their entire lives. Nashville is probably the better option as far having limited competition goes.

What is the point in moving from Tampa bay to Orlando?

Las Vegas won’t be an expansion the As are moving there. It’s a done deal.

There is no point which is why it won’t happen unless Orlando really builds a stadium and Tampa bay doesn’t deal with the Trop situation

One redeeming quality about San Antonio is I am pretty sure most people would switch their allegiance immediately. Most “baseball fans” couldn’t name 5 players on their “favorite team”. If you ask 10 people their favorite team there’s a good chance you will get 10 different answers. But that’s just cause there is no local team.

I would be shocked if they added another team in Texas. It’s going to be Nashville and somewhere else that is a new media market

Would San Antonio support another franchise? I thought I read the Spurs were having some issues.

Florida pretty much sucks at supporting all their teams. I don’t see it being an issue in Nashville (or Charlotte). Those people are Braves fans because they don’t have a team. Hardcore fans will stick with their team but casuals and kids will root for the local team and that’s plenty.

I'm not too sure if it would be better, but from a tourist standpoint, Nashville is considerably more of an attractive city to visit and watch baseball.
