- Yankees will not allow German to pitch the rest of their season due to alleged domestic violence
- Astros currently have best record
- Astros lead in CY Young, ROY, and MVP now
- NL has better races in the WC
- MLB needs to address tanking

I've seen several bump Bregman over Trout as Trout hasn't played since 9/6. Brennan will pass him in WAR by the end of the season, assuming he doesn't get many "rest" days

Suitors for Maddon already emerging.

Wonder if Phillies would really let Kapler go, they need switching in the worst way

I'll bring it up because Cleveland use to be a baseball town and there is no reason it should be this bad. I've been to several games over the last few years in Cleveland and just find it sad

Bob Klapisch of the New York Times tweeted yesterday that German allegedly slapped his girlfriend. Andy Martino of SNY reported that the incident took place late Monday or early Tuesday following a charity gala which took place at CC Sabathia’s home. Klapisch says someone from the Commissioner’s Office witnessed it, though Martino disputes that. What’s not in dispute is that the MLBPA opted not to exercise its right to appeal German’s placement on administrative leave pending the investigation, so the evidence is likely pretty damning.
. He may be done with the Yankees

It is sad. I went to make up game with the Twins last weekend and it was over half empty and quiet in there.

But, don't forget that when the Indians were selling out game after game in the late 90s, the Browns were gone and didn't return as an expansion team until 1999. The Tribe was very good and the only game in town.

Also, in recent years, having owners that never keep and resign players like Brantley or Cy Young winners like Sabathia and Lee turns off some fans.

The Indians have legitimately been a top team in the AL consistently longer than the Astros and Yankees. Fans have not supported them, maybe if they were drawing 3+ million a yet the owners would be inclined to spend like in the 90's.

I'll agree with that.

Another thing that may hurt Indians ticket sales is that for the last several years they have gotten off to slow starts and then worked back into contention later in the year. Not being division leaders off the rip doesn't make the fair weather fans want to come out.

Maybe, but the Indians have been in it for months and still filling at 40-60% capacity. They've ranked near the bottom 5 in attendance almost every year for the last 10

deGrom may have become the consensus Cy Young favorite after tonight’s performance. He was already my pick.

Scherzer being hurt and then sucking against the Cards helps. DeGrom has had a fantastic second half
