So the coach is stacking the deck for a championship run this year. Ok. SELU isn't the easiest place to recruit HS players to.

Yup. Which is fine. Again, MOST programs take 3-4 transfers in a cycle year. SLU is stocking up on NOTHING but transfers from D-I schools.

Really no different than high school classification dick measuring.

To be fair, McNeese has taken 3 transfers as opposed to SLU's 18.
Some white kid that's the size of a MLB that they want to put at DE for some reason.

Derrick Milton RB 6-0 200 Pineville, La Mississippi St. transfer

Nate Holmes RB 6-0 185 Port Arthur Memorial Arkansas transfer

While you consistently count them the same way for both schools, I disagree with your calling JUCOs tranfers. It's not really the same thing.

This will help recruiting 4 year players if they can have a great season this coming year. So its prob worth it

Yeah, I don't see any reason not to do this if it helps you win.

So its not smart to recruit D-1 talent players to an FCS school where you can only recruit FCS talented HS kids? Ohhhhkay

Yeah, I fail to see the problem with what SELU is doing. I don't follow their program that much, but I imagine they weren't winning that much before this last year. Now they have a QB who was a projected starter for a top 10 team last year before transferring, and are competing within their Division. While getting this many transfers year after year wouldn't ideal long term, it helps win short term, which helps recruiting in the long term. What school in SELU's position wouldn't do the same?

All I said is "If that's how you guys want to win it, then shoot for the moon."
I actually just added the "shoot for the moon" part in this post.

All I want is selu to win a championship with coach ron. Then we will see what happens.

It's funny that you guys are taking such offense and trying to justify it.

If you don't have a problem with it, why even comment on it? If McNeese chooses not to take full advantage of the recruiting opportunities available to them as an FCS school, more power to them ... good luck sucking hind tit.
Otherwise, I applaud Ron Roberts and his staff for leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to bring a championship to Southeastern. Good job by them!

Of course you do. Who wouldn't?
All I was saying is that 99% of FCS teams go about it in different ways.

Apparently you don't since you're making an issue of it.

To each their own.

To my knowledge there is no desire to go FBS
That is why I said in the next 10 years. Give the program a chance to build on success.

The goal is to be relevant nationally at the FCS level
I went to SLU and I can pretty much tell you this is impossible. At least to the average sports fan it is. Most people have never heard of North Dakota State.

and compete for championships.
And I do understand that. I just hope we get one/keep in the hunt for them.

Not irrelevant in FBS and a chance at the Obscure.com Bowl.
I understand the sentiment and I know SLU isn't UCONN or S. Florida, but those 2 Universities were pretty close to SLU's level now, not very long ago.

I respectfully disagree with you. There is a considerable FCS following nationally, and schools like App State, Georgia Southern, North Dakota State, Montana, Youngstown State, Delaware, and to some degree, McNeese, among others, are more well known and respected, nationally, even to non FCS fans, than most Sun Belt and some MAC schools.
App State and Georgia Southern are making the jump ... we'll see how they're viewed as programs in 10 years. Will they become a Boise State or a Marshall, Buffalo, or UL-Monroe?
As for Southeastern, the dynamics simply aren't there to support FBS football, unless there's a clear separation at the top, and schools are funneled into a second tier of FBS. Then it may be necessary to move up for scheduling purposes. Otherwise, I don't see it happening.
