This actually works against your argument. What more do you expect Rivers to do? Return punts? Cover kickoffs

You fail here. He drove the team to a shitload of poinTs. Doesn't matter where they start. Now you are talking yARDAGE. wHICH imo DOESN'T MEAN shite IN THE nfl.

San Diego was #2 in Points per game last year.

No

Do I think Ben is the best QB in the AFC? No

When discussing QB's that are in the same class (Rivers + Roethlisberger), why can't winning be part of the argument?

Okay. And as I've stated, I believe Rivers + Roethlisberger's play on the field to be comparable with the overall slight edge going to Ben because he's led his team to three SB.

That they obviously scored enough points to win and make the playoffs, and there wasn't much more that Rivers could do.

So Rivers, according to the logic of all saying team accomplishments cannot be take account for, is the NFL's best QB?

There's a middle ground in all this. You have to accompany stats, O-Line, supporting cast, leadership, postseason play, team play, etc.

There isn't one thing you can point to (stats), imo, in determining what QB's are "elite" or which QB is better than the other

ETA: List your top 7 QB's

Me:
Brady
Rodgers
Manning
Brews

Roethlisberger
Rivers

Freeman

Brees did the same thing and WON a SB.

I could see it as part of the argument when discussing 2 QBs who are in the same class. Where I disagree with you is that Roethlisberger is not in Rivers' class. Their production is not comparable. So team accomplishments, which I agree can be used as a tiebreaker between close players, doesn't apply here because those two are not close. Rivers is up there with Manning, Brady, Brees, and, Rodgers. Ben, to me, is in the next tier with Vick, Ryan, Schaub, Romo, Freeman, and maybe Eli Manning.

So Rivers is a better QB just because he is on a worse team???

The lack of respect Ben gets on this board is amazing

Guy is a great QB with two rings, yet some people on this board don't include him in their top 10 QB's

He's a fringe top 5 QB in the League

There is no argument for him over:

Manning
Brees
Brady
Rodgers
Rivers.

No argument at all.

The Steelers play just as well - sometimes even better - without Ben. Hell if you want to look at the facts (their win totals), Troy Polamulu is more important to their on field success than he is.

Big Ben is basically a bigger, less athletic Vince Young without the mental issues. Can't believe I actually said that Big Ben has less issues than someone, but it's true.

Disagree. Rivers is a good QB, BUT hasn't won shite in SD. Ben has two SBs under his belt and that puts him over Rivers EASY.

here.. I'll put this in Peej language so you can understand.

RINGS is an absolutely TERRIBLE argument!@1121!! teh STEELERS have had the BEST defense for the last 5 years!?!
