As a sports fan, you can't help but root for Roy. Incredible ambassador for the game and doing things the right way.

That type of performance couldn't happen to a more deserving athlete

Thanks EJ.

And GHAZI says this is a fluke loss. Mavs in 6.

Kidd, one of the "greatest" pg's of all time dribbles the ball out of bounds at midcourt and takes a 3 without getting Dirk or Jet involved with the team down 2. Why is he so great again? I think he's one of the most overvalued players in NBA history.

he's probably one of the most undervalued players in NBA history.

dude does it all: passes, plays d, shoots, rebounds, etc. He also stays healthy and has been in the league forever without really slowing.

so the pattern goes.....

talk shite all year long, league is fricked, mavs are stacked, etc

then the playoffs come around and he mysteriously gets banned right around the time the mavs begin to choke. how convenient...

Ok, he made a few mistakes, but he is 38 years old. His numbers at his age are nothing to even be remotely ashamed of. I feel like you are acting as if he should still be in his prime. The only player currently performing at an insane level at such an old age is Nash (37).

What's the backstory on Roy? He was very emotional in the post game interview.

He has basically no cartilage in his knees and was told he probably only has 2 or 3 good years of basketball left.

He was pretty much benched in game two and had to fight back tears on the bench. Fast foward today and he has an epic performance to lead his team to the W.

This sucks. I love watching a healthy Brandon Roy play.

missed most of the season, had surgery on both knees in January after trying to play the early part of the season.

It was doubtful if he'd ever be able to play at a high level again.

He's a elite talent in the NBA and a class act. I think his emotions post game and teams reaction to him told the whole story

The roy story is pretty sad.

Sad thing is he messed up his knees by playing n the postseason last year

didn't he have screwed up knees even before last year? I thought he'd been fighting those inuries for quite some time now.

and while it is sad, you could tell he was really soaking in the moment today with his teammates and fans. He probably realizes his time in the NBA is dwindling and that it's important to cherrish those type of moments. Today might be the pinnacle of his career...
