2.) after offering to suck the big blond nazis dick one to many time, dirk got a restraining order filed, and said iranian goober fled in shame

What evidence have these teams showed that they're significantly better than the Mavs?

I should also note that while I mentioned the Nuggets, Blazers, and Suns... the Hornets, Rockets, Jazz, and Spurs have shown me nothing spectacular thus far either.

We're 2 games back of 2nd place right now... the only team that's head and shoulders above the rest of the Western conference right now is the Lakers.

The seedings of the other teams will come down to who can win a flukish game here and there, who can stay healthy, who can avoid huge slumps, etc.

No reason to pick on the smartest NBA poster on this board.

While I try to back up my opinions with observations and statistics, we have people on here saying the Mavs won't make the playoffs without giving any substance to back up that assertion whatsoever, other than "Dirk is soft" the "kidd trade was horrible" etc etc.

All I know right now is that the Mavs are the 2nd best team in the West. But we weren't gonna go 71-11, so we will lose 15-17 more games this season.

The Mavs are the boringest team in the league. Ghazi makes not sense what so ever when he talks. He keeps saying the Mavs are 2nd in the western conference. Next time he says that he should get banned then bitch slapped

What stats would those be calling the Mavs "the second best team in the Western conference"?

I admire your pluck Ghaz , but the reason I don't think the Mavs will go to the playoffs is that they haven't beaten any really good teams yet....if they knock off the Lakers , Celtics , or Cavs ; then I may change my opinion....and it is just an opinion. I really do like you Ghazi all BS aside....one day if I ever come up there maybe we can grab a beer and shoot the sh!t

This is a case of observation , not statistics

1. lakers

Now there's 8 teams vying for 7 spots, let's break down those teams.

Hornets- No defense, no heart, no attitude, no swagger. Overreliant on the 3-PT shot and lacking spectacular talent outside of CP3. The Mavs are better at the 5, 3, 2, and 4 than the Hornets.

Rockets- Very deep roster, but lacking a true superstar and durability

Suns- no defense and no rebounding, a proven formula for postseason failure

Nuggets- No team featuring Carmelo as its best player will amount to anything in the playoffs. Carmelo is 4-20 in the playoffs shooting around 40%, not a winner.

Blazers- 21st in defense, too young, too inexperienced. Talented all around, but lacking a championship core.

Spurs- give the Mavs a challenge. They have the rebounding, defense, they have the championship core, they have it all. The only question is whether the talent outside of the big 3 is good enough to win it all. They are a little old too.

Now, I will say this. the Mavs are likely the 3rd or 4th best team in the West with Josh Howard. If he is traded for lets say... a Mike Miller or Gerald Wallace, then watch the hell out league. The Mavs are 15-5 in their last 20 in spite of Howard, not because of Howard. If the Mavs can get something good in return for Howard, then the rest of the league, INCLUDING the Lakers/Cavs/Celtics, are in huge trouble.
