Was pretty stoked when I saw this news, funny how time will alter your view of a driver as I used to (like 7-8 years ago) not care for Kenseth at all

I'll be surprised if Bayne actually finishes out next season still having this seat part time, the guy is simply not very good and this hanging over his head isn't gonna help anything

Idk who they'd replace Bayne with (unless Kenseth does really well and Mark Martin's him) but I'd be really surprised if it was Ryan Reed

Yes reed brings sponsorship but he's shown almost nothing at the lower level. I would look towards Buscher possibly

Maybe Elliott Sadler or Brendan Gaughan?

They had five drivers in the first Chase and now I don't even remember the last time they had even one.

Last year with Ricky - 2 plate track wins and he survived until the 2nd round. Technically the year before that as well since they had Buscher under contract and on loan to Front Row and he won at Pocono. The cliffs story on RFR is they were shedding sponsors left and right - was a 4 car team without a full season sponsor on any car. They couldn't afford to keep up with the joneses, then the vet drivers saw the decline in performance starting and they bailed out. They put kids that weren't ready into the seats, they couldn't provide proper feedback on the cars and started finishing in the 20s and 30s. They shed the 16 and 99 charters to focus on 2 cars and streamline operations and lost Buscher in the process. Now here we are.

Presser is for 9am and there is a lot of doubt about the SB Nation story because nobody can confirm any of it.

Glad he's back. Now I can root against him some more.

I was at that Daytona. That entire place roared for him that last lap.

Would be shocked if it was either, Gaughan is semi retired at this point and both him and Sadler are up over 40. Pretty unlikely any sponsors are interested in getting behind them

Yes Kenseth is older himself but he is a champion and a completely different asset as a driver from Gaughn and Sadler

What about a Reed Sorenson or Ty Dillon?

If it wasn't for the the fact that it's a Ford ride I would think Dillon would be the favorite for it but I just don't think RC's grandson would make the move away from Chevy

Sorensen has literally never done anything

Who knows if Bayne will vacate the seat or not but as I said earlier, Buscher makes the most sense
