As in years past, here is the Massey Composite. It's an amalgamation of both computer and human polls. The primary purpose of the ranking comparison is to present the large variety of rankings in an easily accessible and understood format. By displaying all the rankings in one web page, teams and rating systems may be easily compared with each other.

Massey

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Georgia
4. Notre Dame
5. Florida
6. Auburn
7. Texas
8. Louisiana State
9. Central Florida
10. Ohio State

Definitely some weird rankings this week, with the most obvious of Louisiana State maintaining a top 10 ranking with their abysmal opener vs Mississippi State. These rankings will have some significant anomalies until we get more data points from a season already significantly lacking those.

Were you asking that question 2 weeks ago about SEC teams?

Id do separate rankings for the B10 and P12 this year, and they shouldn't be eligible for the playoffs with an 8 game schedule.

Teams will have played 4-5 games by the time these leagues start and will already be dealing with injuries, fatigue, etc.

If the SEC played an 8 game schedule and everyone else played a 10 game schedule, there is no one who would say the SEC champ shouldn't be eligible for the playoffs.

That's just a fact

Because in the SEC, it just means more...

I’m shocked Ohio State isn’t number 1!

Not it wouldn't be said at all, because quality always is more important than quantity. The big 12 looks really REALLY bad this season. If they played a full schedule of 13 games no one would say their champion should be #1 because of the # of games

When you only have one team worth a shite, you shouldn't be considered especially playing only 8 games.

That is the actual fact.

Teams can take their 9 best wins (assuming Ohio State makes the title game) and compare that way. Ignore the losses if you want (even though teams have essentially disqualifying losses in weeks 1 and 2 already)

Ohio State would be in because of how weak the little 10 is. They are leaps and bounds above everyone else in that conference except for their almost yearly breakdown against a team they should crush.

Are Mississippi State and Kansas State really that much better than B1G teams outside of Ohio State?

I never said anything about the Weak 12.

Just like Clemson, Ohio State plays in the one of the weakest P5 conferences. Who else is comparable to Florida, Georgia, Alabama, LSU and Auburn? No one.

This doesn't take away that Ohio State is usually good but when you play cream puffs, it's not really saying that much.

How can the Big Ten be one of the weakest conferences out of 5 if the ACC and Big 12 are weak too?

Easily. One horse conference. No competition and getting beat by teams yearly that they shouldn't.

#Little10Little10Little10

and for what it's worth, the Little 10 is better than the ACC, PAC 12 and Weak 12 .

So the 2nd best conference is "one of the weakest" of 5.

Got it.

And you completely ignored my proposal to only look at the 9 best results for the teams to account for an uneven number of games.
