quote:Mid superbowl seems awfully attention-whorish for a guy who doesnt want to be in the spotlight.
Appropriate time for him to do it, when no one will really care.

Seems like the complete opposite lol. If he waits until the SB deal slows down and announces it in the middle of the off-season, that would dominate the talk.

Not even close.
If Marshawn retired next week, it would be the main story for at least that day.
Retires during SB, it just gets a mention before returning to non-stop SB coverage.

or maybe he wanted to say it in his own way for his fans and for seahawks fans. You can't deny that his retirement announcement has gotten about a 10th of the attention it would receive if he had announced his retirement next week.

He is done. Read an article that he has not spent $1 of his salary since he has been in the league. He has lived off endorsement money only which has been millions. Dude is set money wise and done playing.

quote:It would be a non-issue next week also if he just tweeted that out. Everyone expects him to retire and no one really cares that much tbh. I just find it funny that he says he wants NO attention but then does things to subtly draw attention.
