It's not dogma, it's a contractual obligation collectively bargained by the NFL and the NFLPA.
I think you miss my point.
I've no idea why anyone thought it should be part of the collective bargaining contract. It is just silly to me and entirely unnecessary.
What if a guy has REALLY bad stutter and finds it embarrassing to go before cameras? I think it's just dumb that this even exists in the contracts.

As a stutterer, I would fight this tooth and nail on behalf of myself and other players, and for people like Lynch who clearly have an anxiety disorder. It's ableist (first and probably last time I will ever use that word) and assumes that everyone is 100% capable/comfortable of/with talking to the media when that is absolutely not the case.
