Fast, strong, great hands and a hard-hitter. He would be a steal for Tulane, ULL, La. Tech, etc. He could play receiver or safety. Reminds of Jack Hunt.
Does not compute
Reminds you of him cause they are both white?

I saw Jack Hunt play in high school and he was a hard hitter AND fast, and played DB, WR and returned kicks, as does Laird. And from North Louisiana.
And white.
And white.

So you're talking this kid up because you heard someone talking about him on the radio and wonder why he has no offers?

Mark Laird could definately play for ULM or Tech. He made everyone he played against look silly.

H had 20 career interceptions and probably 3k of offense or more at OCS. He reminds me a lot of Steltz.

He ran track his freshman year and did 400 and ran around a 50-55 sec i think but that was forever ago..
Now he runs 4.4-4.5 40

If he doesnt get an ULM offer then ULM is simply as ignorant as they appear, (which I really hoped wasn't the case).
Great athelete, hometown hero..probably would bring a lot of new faces to the games, and probably would be a starter in year two or at least rotating in and out.
I say this as a ulm supporter, not OCS.

Is he really only 165? Watching him a couple of times he looked bigger. Not saying way bigger but I'd be surprised if 165 was his actual weight?

I would almost guarantee he goes to LSU and maybe tries to walk-on or just stops sports and gets education.

He is skinny, he was prob 140 a couple years ago. no way he is above 175.
I would assume around 165 but I havent weighed him myself
Roster
There is OCS roster.. says 6'2 175.. so i would guess 6'1 ~170

Agree 100% about the ULM offer. If they do not offer Laird or Wyatt shame on them. Great local talent that will contribute.

I saw him play in high school plenty and of course college.

I saw him play 4 or 5 times the last 3 years. He was always the fastest kid on the field. He helped shut the kid from South Plaq. down last year. If ULM doesn't offer then they ought to shut the football program down.

So can anyone guess why the kids has ZERO offers? He also has great grades.
Posted on 12/15/11 at 8:42 pm to William Munny
I am only familiar with Laird. I know he is faster and bigger than at least two of the receivors at ULM. Not saying they are not good, because they are, but Laird is better. When he played Manghum...by the end of the game, the Manghum people were amazed at how good he was and how bad one player made them look. Thats a common reaction to people seeing him play.
Dont have a clue why he hasnt been offered to ULM, except they have NEVER been good at recruiting and appear to be getting worse. Makes me want to stop buying season tickets - just disappointing.

Maybe he told ULM he'd never go there so no need to offer. ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/icons/shrug.gif)

Good point JJ. He may have told everyone he is 100% committed to walking on at LSU.
