I would highly doubt the Twins. Blue Jays makes some sense. I still can't understand why they'd release Thomas though

Me too, doesn't fit their team philosophy very well.

That made no sense from a baseball standpoint. They're tied for 27th in MLB for Home Runs (with Minnesota and LAD) so they ditch one of their biggest power threats. Sexson has more HR than any Blue Jay so far this season.

The Dodgers might be an alright fit, but Sexson wouldn't be an everyday player there.

the jays released thomas because he was strugglingly early and they wanted to bench him for a few and he told them no, just cut me. they did. thomas is solid, stupid on the jays standpoint of giving up on him

fact is they didn't have to cut him just because he asked. They could have just looked at last year's stats and realized he had the same shitty start only to heat up and have a good season.

They have Conor Jackson doing pretty well at first... I don't know if he can move to RF? Wouldn't work well as a platoon either with both being righties.

Connor Jackson has been playing LF mostly since Byrnes has been out.

Hell what about Boston with Big Papi out, he would provide a little pop and very little cost. Even the Mets who could use a corner outfielder with some pop in his bat.

They're doing fine with Manny DHing and Ellsbury and Crisp in LF/CF.

ah but everyone would love some power, even if it means Sexson playing a few games a week or as a pinch hitter.

i would like to see a lineup with kearns, sosa, howard, sexson, dunn and 3 other worm killers. can you imagine the boxscore. 5 hits, 5 homers , 20 strikeouts per game

am a Mariners fan and attended a game a little over a week ago in San Diego. The guy has just lost his talent. It was not just at the place. There was a play on the field where he just looked confused at what he should do by time he realized what was going on and turned for the play the ball was ten feet from his head and he had to duck out of the way. If I remember correctly they pulled him during that half of the inning during a pitching change. The Mariners wont he game though but it was the Padres.

As a no risk signing, I think it'd make plenty of sense for the Marlins to pick him up and let him platoon/pinch hit. Hell he'd be making league minimum just like the rest of their team.
