So who is in the better position to know what Andy Katz brings to the table - ESPN or random internet poster?

Weak arse argument. Corporations make the wrong decision a lot.

Yeah, but corporations are wrong sometimes.

Didn't know Katz was let go. CBS will snag him.

ESPN has more information, but that doesn't mean that letting Katz go is necessarily the correct move. I'm sure ESPN had a lot of information before they launched the Longhorn Network too.

Now tell us why Katz was a bad move.

I didn't say if it was the right or wrong move. All I'm saying is that just because ESPN made the decision doesn't mean it's the right one. The poster I replied too implied the OP was wrong just because ESPN made the move.

honestly this was more in line of the type of firings I expected. Guys who likely had bloated salaries due to being there a while but largely replaceable in the grand scheme of things

Basically ESPN doesn't know what people like and what they don't. That's a reasonable thing to suspect
So I'm more interested in what the consumers who are rejecting them have to say
Who knows what he was paid. He may have been fired simply for being paid but not necessarily overpaid. You and I don't even know ESPN's reasoning on a case by case basis.

Thanks for clearing up that analogy.

Yeah but you assume it's return for what they pay. It could be simply that he's getting a check and the criticisms from people that do watch I would say is pretty interesting
I don't even know who the fricking guy is

quote:Huh? If you're trying to say that I'm assuming ESPN looked at the balance sheet and noticed that the traffic he was driving wasn't close to what they were paying him, then you are correct. Just a guess, though. I can't see ESPN letting him go if it were otherwise.

i took "who knows what he brings to the table more"
as a presumption that his firing was what he costs vs. what he brings...but from the sound of things, it sounds like they may have been slashing guys simply because they don't work for free. because i'm sure some heads didn't roll because espn is stuck paying them no matter what. and since they're clearly a mismanaged company who even knows if they are even making good decisions as it relates to this.

It's absolutely an assumption. It's logical, but still an assumption and I could be completely wrong.
Posted on 4/27/17 at 1:03 pm to StrongBackWeakMind
is the assumption espn doesn't know what the frick they're doing also logical?
