Unanimous #1 prospect has about 60 innings left on his clock this year - will be interesting to see how many of those are spent at the big league level with Gio Gonzalez struggling so bad.

I have to say this surprises me. Giolito hasn't even seen AAA. Straight from AA to a huge division chase game.

Unanimous prospect is an oxymoron

You're right and I'm actually wrong on this - I could have sworn he was #1 on BAin addition to MLB and ESPN, but he's 5 there.

Still, it's a reasonably big deal.

And considering those ratings fluctuate during the season

well it means he'll probably have a great debut vs the Mets.

I think they've faced 4 or 5 "major prospects" this year losing to all but the guy from the Dodgers.

frick. Mets need hitting so damn bad.

He's been lights out recently until his last start where he lost his command a little bit and gave up 5.

On one hand, I'm surprised to see them bring a guy up for such a huge game.

On the other, what better offense to bring a guy up against than the Mets.

Maybe package Harvey with a prospect and you could get a good hitter. How about Jay Bruce? He's awful defensively but would give life to your offense

If Matz's elbow is bad enough to require surgery I don't think they can deal Harvey.

Kid went 4 IP 1 H shutout before the deluge came. A shame - pitch count was very low and it would have been interesting to see how far he could have taken it.

Looked great.
