The amount of revisionist history in your posts is quite amusing. None of that had happened in late november 2006 when the game in question was played.

It may be revisionist history, but many people in the south thought it before it happened.

We all know what the O in Ohio State really is...0-10.

Honestly that 2006 OSU/UM game may have been one of the best college football games I ever saw. I don't know what else a person could want (except maybe defense , but both defenses came up huge in spots)

History has proven those SEC tards to be right. OSU got the shite kicked out of them in 2 straight title games and both OSU and Michigan are in the shitter, while the SEC has won 5 straight national titles

Hindsight is always 20/20. Ohio State was a 7 point favorite over Florida and UF was something like +250 on the ML. if theses SECtards, "knew" Florida was going to win, then I want to see the what they bought with all their winnings. They are also busy rewriting history to fit the view 5 years later, that they have forgotten about USC who was #2 after the OSU-UM game and killed a 10-1 ND with only lowly 6-5 UCLA on deck. USC wins that game, and its them and not Florida drilling tOSU. Where tOSU and UM are now doesn't mean they were powerhouses in 2006. LSU and Bama could be down and out by 2016, no one knows.

LSU/Bama has zero national appeal the majority of those times

bullshite. LSU has turned into Americas team at the college level. They have a great and nutty coach, aaaaaaaa brilliant UNI, A rabid fanbase and a STYLE that NO other team has.. As much as the OSU/ Mich game meant. This is a battle of two teams that are MUCH better than UM or OSU were.

On the face of it you'd have to go with tOSU vs. Michigan considering the national media slobs the knob off of those 2 teams regardless of how good they are each year.

The media was unbearable after the game trying their damndest to get Michigan back into a rematch with tOSU. Bama/LSU won't get that benefit of the doubt even with nothing but 1 loss teams and despite winning 3 of the last 8 national titles in a conference that has won 5 straight. In fact, Alabama/Florida was a #1 vs #2 matchup in both 2008 and 2009 and neither loser of that game got lobbied for at all like the media blowhards did for Michigan in 2006. It took complete and total domination of the Big 10 by the SEC the last few years to force the Big Ten knob slobbing media to give the SEC the respect it deserves.

It was a decent game for Big 10 standards. BUT The LSU/BAMA game will and should be compared to the 1971 OU/ NEB battle.

I'm sure all those same people cashed out of the dow in July 2007, bought Apple back in 96, bet their house on UCLA vs USC and again on florida vs tOSU

It wasn't "the media" it was maybe some people in the media. Gary Danielson is part of the media and he openly lobbied for Florida during the SECCG. Oh and the AP poll which is the Media poll had Florida #2 going into the bowls

LINK

Just because someone, somewhere at ESPN at some point said something about a rematch, does not mean "the media" wanted it to happen. But don't let facts get in the way of your beliefs.

no one outside the big 10 really thought either of those teams were super powers.

Except the Coaches, Harris and AP polls. After the game, Michigan only dropped to #3 in one poll and remained #2 in the other.

that game was immensely more hyped but these 2 teams are significantly better, with more legit pro talent on each

OSU and Michigan were the class of CFB in 2006 before the BCS bowl games.

That's when I want my team to be the class of CFB.

You remember 1971??? Ok. LSU/BAMA NATION WIDE[ even with 3 games left]>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>OSU/MICH with ZERO games left. THESE TEAMS are THAT MUCH BETTER THAN UM or OSU in 2006.

The teams are better this year.

But that was a pretty fricking huge game. Last game of the regular season, huge rivalry, the winner was for sure in the national championship game. All of those things.

Michigan/Ohio State was a huge game.

The main thing that LSU/Alabama has is that they are better teams and there is two weeks before the game to build up the hype.

Point taken, but defenses did make stops. Wasn't constant scoring.

So that makes it a decent game by Big 10 standards? Makes no sense, Peej.
