RPI up to 59. It's insane that an at large berth isn't out of the question for a team that has looked so bad for most of the year.

I'm seeing it now at 58. And as of now we have either split or won (lsu and msu) both games against every in-state opponent. Nicholls and UNO were single games and we won both of those. Tulane is the only remaining mid week and we already have a victory there. Hope we can continue this trend....definitely more fun to win.

Boyd's World is projecting that the Cajuns need to win 13/15 to get inside top 45 RPI. With Coastal coming in next weekend, a series win is a must this weekend and a sweep is almost necessary.

La Tech needs to win 13/14 to get into the top 45 and they're at Southern Miss in a few weeks.

Long shot for both teams to get an at large.

LSU is on the bubble too. They'll need to finish strong to avoid missing the tournament

Yeah, i really doubt either of us get an at large. My hopes are that UL can continue on this winning trend, get a good seed for the tourney and then use the home field advantage at the tourney for all it's worth.

No matter how you cut it, it's a real long shot, but I like how we are at least at a point where we dream a bit. Given the season we've had, that in itself is quite a feat.

Yep....fer sure. They got twice the hits we did: GSU 12, UL 6.

Yet, in the end we still got the W, which is all that really matters. I think.

Demons with two come from behind wins to start the weekend against Houston Baptist. Good win for NSU and definitely helps our post-season chances (conference tourney).

Schedule is favorable for NSU to close the year so hopefully we can surge a bit to finish off the year. Also positive is that we have a young squad so shaping up to make a good run next year.

RPI Report Update for the 3 remaining schools with an at large shot:

LSU, 26-19

RPI: 53
SOS: 29
Non-Conference SOS: 144
vs RPI top 25: 4-5
vs. RPI 26-50: 5-7
vs. RPI 51-100: 6-3

My best guess for right now: Bubble in

LSU has a home series next weekend vs Arkansas (32-13, RPI #5), midweek at home vs McNeese (20-24, RPI #149), a series at home vs Alabama (23-23, RPI #68), a midweek vs NW State (25-19, RPI #154), and finishes with 3 on the road at Auburn (31-14, RPI #6).

Tough stretch to end the season for the Tigers. I think they'll need to sweep Alabama and hope for a series win vs either Arkansas or Auburn, while sweeping their remaining midweek games. They currently sit at 10-11 in conference play. I think 15-15 (4-5 in the remaining games) should be enough to get them in.

If they catch fire and win all 3 remaining series, they could potentially be back in the hosting group.

Louisiana Tech, 31-15

RPI: 55
SOS: 132
Non-Conference SOS: 129
vs. RPI top-25: 1-0
vs. RPI 26-50: 0-1
vs RPI 51-100: 8-7

My best guess for right now: Bubble out

The Bulldogs have a series next weekend against Middle Tennessee (22-22-1, RPI #180) at home, a midweek game at Grambling (22-19, RPI #273), at Southern Miss (32-11, SOS #33) for 3, and a home series vs Old Dominion (12-29, RPI #251).

I can't see them getting in with anymore than 2 losses going forward. Old Dominion has to be a sweep, as their record will be detriment to La Tech's RPI even with wins. I think they'll need to take 2/3 from MT, 2/3 from USM, and all 4 from Grambling and Old Dominion to be a strong bubble team.

Louisiana, 26-20

RPI: 61
SOS: 61
Non-conference SOS: 5
vs. RPI top-25: 0-1
vs. RPI 26-50: 4-6
vs. RPI 51-100: 11-9

My best guess for right now: Extended bubble out

The Cajuns have a home series next weekend against Coastal Carolina (31-14, RPI #23) followed by series at Texas State (22-21, RPI #122), a midweek game vs Tulane at home (21-24, RPI #82) and finishing with a home series vs ULM (18-25, RPI #200).

To get in, they need to finish at least 8-2, with a sweep against ULM. They'd be at 34-22 with a strong SOS and an RPI somewhere around the mid-40s.

You gotta love that Louisiana is still in the conversation after the horrible start that we've had. That is a real testament to the strength of the UL program, not just this team.

As for this weekend, besides having the home field advantage, I also like the fact that we've had the whole week off and our pen is getting back to where it should be. Now if we can just hit the ball a few times......
