If "we" are wasting our time bringing up Catholic, the why are you wasting your time replying...if you've watched any of their last 5 games, you'd have to agree that they are a team that nobody wants to play. They've averaged 42 ppg and defense has really improved under Anthony Camp. Nobody has stated that Catholic is a favorite to go to New Orleans, but no team can look past them either

BR teams always choke in the playoffs. No one is scared of Catholic, and no one is especially scared of Central

Save this quote for the playoffs...

On top of what Trill said, Central was a win a way from the dome a few years ago before losing to Destrehan. Central has been very close a couple times the past few years.

I'll make a bold prediction now. Either Central or Catholic will make it to the semifinal in 5A.

I can't take any 5a team that losses to Port Allen and St. Michael seriously. Unless they were missing their qb or a star running back they aren't a contender.

They better hope they get in the side of the bracket with other BR area schools or Northshore schools.

it will take a major upset to knock out Rummel, WM, or Barbe before the semis...

Yes it will, I'm really drawing blanks on teams that could upset them.

Catholic, Central, Jesuit, South Lafourche, Ouachita, and St. Paul's are the possibilities

Has anyone seen South Lafouche?
They struggled with Ehret based on the score and that's not a good sign.

the most shocking bad teams in 5A are 2-5 Higgins and 0-8 John Ehret

Maybe Higgins, Ehret has been bad for awhile.

We didn't play port allen, and our "loss to st. michael" was our jamboree game in a torrential downpour. Our starting QB only played last two minutes of jamboree game, and scored a TD in that time. Darrius Guice also barely played at RB, as nobody knew how big of a beast he would be...not even fair to compare with team they have become

If will briscoe doesn't tear his acl then Central would have won state. They barely lost to destrehan with the backup qb and would have beat west Monroe like destrehan.

Really? Central beat STM who beat Barbe. I'm not saying Central would beat Barbe, but it would certainly be a close game.

Catholic has gotten a lot better as the season has progressed.

BR area teams get no love on here. Its all new orleans or up north. I know jj27 was scared of central in 08.

I've watched Central play 3 or 4 games this year, and I believe they are capable of beating anybody in the state...having said that, I'd love to see the Bears get a rematch with the wildcats!

I personally seen them play once and it was against Central lafourche whom lost their head coach the week before. The game was a total domination however on SLs part.

John Ehert and SL play regularlly and it is usually a good game for SL. At least as for as I can remember. Ehert is usually a good team year in and out as for as I can remember. When SL and Ehert played this season it was early on and SL was working with their new HC...

Tarpons get Thibodaux this Friday for a chance to go undefeated in the regular season for first time in 66'.

Don't worry too much Trill. Let the New Orleans peeps run their mouths. Central will do the talking once playoffs start.

I personally think Central can beat any team in 5A on any night. They have done it the past few years. Just ask St. Paul or Acadiana.

As a fan of both teams, it's nice to see some respect being given to Catholic and Central...and it's duly earned!
