And one real problem is, if a family is truly in it for a Catholic education and their kids have always attended Catholic schools, why does it matter where they live?

You don’t see how Catholic can get whoever from St Amant’s zone, yet St Amant can’t get whoever from Catholic’s zone?

The LHSAA is made up of majority public schools that don’t want to just believe Catholic kids are just there for Catholic education

St. Amant is free and has a much larger budget than Catholic.

Every type of school has advantages and disadvantages; for some reason we only acknowledge a few of them.

The change was voted on and passed by the principals in January and published with the rest of the changes a few weeks later.

Even if they were “published” if it was in January, it was too late. Parents did not have an opportunity to make a decision on changing schools.

There are a couple of wrestlers in town who are capable of competing at a high level as freshmen and they are now ineligible, punished for their middle school choice.

You also mentioned that the rule was not final. What do you mean?

If you really believe all public schools only have kids who live in their zones I don’t know what to tell you.

The horror, your freshmen son might not be able to play varsity football. How will he ever get that college scholarship without playing varsity as a freshman? Playing JV ball is beneath so many of these freshmen.

I know this is TD and the internet, so it’s cool to be a dick, but there are plenty of kids who don’t give a shite about football, are very talented in other sports and are actually working towards scholarships.

And?

What does that have to do with going to school out of your zone and demanding to play varsity in the 9th grade?

There have to be rules. Can’t just let athletes bounce all over the state to play ball.
