How about this, private schools can only take from their district (which is now the whole parish) but they can get anyone they want and the state has to pay the tuition, just like the taxpayers already pay the tuition for public schools. Would you feel better then?

A Private School can't accept money from the State or Parish because once they do they lose their control over their school's curiculum, etc. Taking money from any PUBLIC entity is like opening Pandora's Box for a Private School.
