no it would have been a lateral due to the qb throwing backwards to the receiver... soo basically its just like a long toss play

5A Rankings
WM has no athletes to match up with the speed of central... the same goes for any NLA school. Too much speed in the south (see all of last years state champs)

then please explain the last 18 of 25 state champions in the states highest classification?

As long as the pass is caught behind the LOS people can block downfield. It has nothing to do whether it is forward or backwards. Know the rules before you comment. I love listening to some of the explanations on here. Only a ball caught behind the line can be a legal screen, therefore pass interference can not be called on a legal screen. If a reciever is blocking down field on a ball caught beyond the LOS, then pass interference can be called.

Thats what i thought....i.e we got screwed on that touchdown

Pass interefence can be called on a screen if it happens before the ball is thrown

1. Always heard playing up a classification works in a team's favor win or lose. Is that correct?

2 points added per classification played up. So if 1A South Plaq beat 5A Central for example they would have 18 points for a win before adding in the wins of Central. So if at the end of the year Central was 9-1, South Plaq would get 27 points for that 1 win. That's why a lot of times you'll see the smaller schools with much higher power ratings than the higher classifications.

2. If so how does it affect the higher classification team like Acadiana and Dutchtown who both played Parkview? Acadiana loss big while Dutchtown won big...Now this week you have Central 5A taking on Capitol 2A...

No penalty for the higher class team. They just don't get a reward. Isn't Capitol undefeated? If so Central would get 19 points for the win should Capitol win next week.

3. How does power points work for a team who travels out of state and to take on a ranked team from a lower classification like when Catholic traveled to play Florida's top ranked 4A team Park Forest?

Rankings don't matter. So Catholic gets 10 points for the win and 1 point for every win Park Forest has.

This is why I wish West Monroe would schedule teams from Arkansas for their OOD games. Their is a 6A and 7A in Arkansas eventhough the schools aren't any bigger and there are only 16 per class. Play 3 7A schools and get 12 extra total points.

Wow! Dumbest comment of the day by far. Im from south LA and this is totally incorrect on your part. You maybe able to say that about other NLA schools. But when it comes to WM and Bastrop, might as well keep your mouth closed because if you think these teams don't have speed Then your gonna be in for quite a surprise when you see not only the speed but the size of WM. Centrals QB will be running for his life all night.

I listed 7, you listed one more. That's 8 in the last 25 years. If we listed 8, it would have to only be 17 from North LA to win in the last 25 years.

i went to LSU can't count.... still with far fewer schools.. significantly more state titles up north.... esp the monroe area...

when ECA won it - it had been 25 years since the last state title in the biggest class from s-port.
