I see a lot of people say Ed O is interested, I'm seeing a lot of people say Major Applewhite who has a connection to south Louisiana but I don't see that happening.

fwiw, if you guys want a good meltdown read raginpagin. In the past week and a half, we've had our starting middle linebacker and our starting quarterback's dad post.

I haven't figured out how to link from raginpagin, but the first post in the "Tell me if I am wrong!" thread has Grant Fleming's response to the thread in it.

This is Chris Masson's dad's EPIC response to someone saying that he's afraid of being hit...

quote:

Afraid of defenders? The kid isn't supposed to be playing tonight and you have the nerve to say he's afraid? I'd like to see you take the pounding he's taken all year and then talk all the crap that you do.

The bottom line is this: Christian has a staph infection that spread throughout several parts of his body. The infection was cut out on Thursday without any kind of sedative and he is going against doctors orders just so that he can play. Please stop questioning Chris' toughness because your analysis is both ridiculous and meritless. Last time I checked, NFL and college players alike routinely sit out of games so that they can let their staph infections heal in a timely fashion. The severity of the infection is far worse than you jokers on here know, so please quit with your arm chair BS. I'm sick and tired of "fans" disrespecting Christian on this website and will no longer stand for such petty, trivial banter from a body of individuals who purport to be men.

And just in case any of you knucklehead's have the remote fascination of sizing me up, I am a combat veteran of both Afghanistan and Iraq and have earned both the Bronze Star w/ Valor Device and the Purple Heart. So please do me a favor and spare me any potential "tough southern cajun" bravado. The lot of you have either a. never had the testicular fortitude to actually face adversity or b. lack the cognitive faculties to comprehensively analyze football. Step back for a second and look at this story for what it is: Christian and the rest of this team are killing themselves on a week-to-week so that a bunch of fat, bald, 40-something year old men can drink cold beer and watch football on Saturday afternoons just because they have nothing else going for them.

ULL is a career killer. I don't know why anyone would want to go coach there.

That's pretty good right there.

Yeah, I was stunned when he posted that. I couldn't believe it. He's making it seem like all college football fans are rednecks, we aren't Alabama fans.

I just finished reading the thread with Fleming's response. It was great.

However, I don't like Mr. Masson's post at all. I haven't found the thread yet so I'm missing a lot of context, but he comes off as an elitist, e-badass.

Of course it's natural to defend your kid, but your kid is a starting qb for an FBS school. He is not going to be free from criticism and he isn't going to like much of what he hears. He should learn to ignore it.

Masson still sounds terrified of defenders.

I love the "tough southern cajun bravado" line. You're trivializing the "Ragin' Cajun" moniker, when your son plays for the Ragin' Cajuns.

Thanks. I just found the thread.

But my opinion hasn't changed. He should avoid fan message boards if he can't handle seeing his son be criticized.

He should tell his son to grow a sack.
