Which led to them changing the BCS formula. It would've been a travesty if LSU didn't make it that year and Oklahoma did after getting waxed by k state.

that's not really the point of the thread though.

It's about Saban. For all of his greatness, he has been very very fortunate in the way things have fallen for his teams in many of his championship seasons.

I also find it interesting that his championship at LSU was somewhat dismissed by the national media until he started winning all of these at Bama. I mean ESPN never brings up the "split" in 2003 anymore. But for years it was more of USC's than Sabans.

This is wrong. The kick six won the game on the final play of regulation

I don’t mind Saban’s greatness so much as I mind where the frick he’s doing it.

Oh I get the point it’s unbelievable and my hats off to Saban, clearly the goat. I thought Miami 86-92 was the best dynasty I’d ever seen. In a 7 year span They won 3 MNC, finished 2 3 times, with their only loss to the eventual NC, 2 of those on the last play and #3 in the down year.

It’s also easier when you get 2nd chances others do not. I don’t think LSU would have gotten a rematch in 11 i don’t think Auburn gets on this year if your only loss was to them and I do see why they beat FSU when they got drilled by OU.

No the point is a bunch of jealous fans of opposing teams trying to lessen the accomplisments to make themselves feel better

You can luck into 1 but not 6

I cannot for the life of me figure out how he hasn’t had a heart attack yet. Dude looks like he’s going to shite himself before every big game. He wants to win so bad and he does. Whatever he does in that locker room works. Bama comes out swinging and always pulls it off. It baffles me. It’s amazing and frustrating at the same time. Tired of hearing about Bama, tired of their fans BUT this coach is unstoppable. When he does get beat, it’s a fluke, it’s not because the other team is better. And where did this Freshman QB come from? Saves the game without ever playing in a huge college game. Saban’s tricks and secrets are out of this world. I don’t know how he does it but he does.

If you can find it, watch mike Gundy's reaction to the Bama win. It is glorious. The most dead-angry stare you can find.

Do you people are stop and think why Alabama is the only team with a massive conspiracy in place to benefit them?

.

It’s not a conspiracy but it’s a sport where the champion or the match up at least is selected. Name brand and preseason rankings play a role.

And so these mysterious people who select these match ups and Champions ahead of the season have decided to allow Alabama to win 5 of the last 9 titles because why? Are there not other brand names and high pre season ranked teams worthy of such love?

This is a copy out response. It’s not trying to lessen the accomplishment to point out they/he has had some amazing breaks outside of their control go their way. Full credit to being there every year and hence being in a position to take advantage of the breaks but that’s the frustrating part. Auburn went undefeated and didn’t get to even play for the title in 2004 but Alabama doesn’t win their division and does

Hmm that sounds exactly like a conspiracy.

A post ago you said the champions were hand picked by people you haven’t even indentified.

sadly name brands count for something

you won't convince me that if the teams were Oregon State and Missouri in 2004 that went undefeated in place of USC and Oklahoma that Auburn wouldn't have gotten into the national title.

I know that's a grossly oversimplified argument, but I think the point rings pretty true. The blue bloods get preferential treatment.

That’s not what I said, you’re creating a strawman. There’s no mysterious people. There are preseason polls and of course Alabama has been ranked high based on their accomplishments and known roster as they should. It’s not just them, it’s happened to other before but we’re discussing Alabama.

In 2011 Alabama goes over Ok St Alabama was ranked high in the preseason everyone knows they have the best coach, a roster loaded with NFL talent. Ok St is a 2nd tier program that has never done anything That played a role. If it was Miss St vs Oklahoma or Texas, then I think the Big XII team gets in.

2011 Alabama got into the title game because their only competition for the spot had lost to a 6-7 Iowa Sate team in November. If Okie State wins that game they are in. They had control over their own destiny.

Okie State was 28 pt favorites for that game
