This. 10 years in jail minimum for anyone helping cover it up.

It's not like the average PSU fan, or players, for that matter, knew this was happening

I would suspect that every football coach knew this was happening. If the janitorial staff knew, more people knew.

This tragedy was the making of the highest tier of PSU administrators and athletic officials.

In essence, this tragedy was made by the university. It was made allowed by many different people in the university. It was done to benefit the football program.

Those that committed crimes should be punished. But do not forget that this coverup was perpetrated on behalf of the football program and for that reason the football program should be punished.

This never stopped the ncaa before. They usually hand down sanctions years after the incidents and after the parties that allowed it have already left.

the athletes on the team weren't responsible

This is an irrelevant reason. It has never stopped the ncaa before. I guess you feel the ncaa should not have given USC any sanctions then. The players that were guilty had already left and the entire coaching staff had been replaced.

And do what? Cover up a pedophile? Absolutely ridiculous.

Hell no.

99.9.99 % of the people involved with psu ... Fans, players grad assist, coaches, admin had nothing to domwith it.

If this had been at LSU or your school, many of you wouldn't be so fricking quick to call for penn states head.

That is the way things are done.

No. Hard to fault the kids on those sports teams now. The people involved are all dead or gone on. Penalize them, but no to the death penalty for me.

No.

If they did, I wouldn't care though.

Anyone who knew or covered it up should be prosecuted

Fans,

Correct. They had nothing to do with it.

Unkown. Likely few if any knew.

What do you call Paterno? What do you call the grad assistant that became a coach? I think they are coaches.

Actually not true. More than a few administrators knew about this.

If one percent of the people involved in the football program knew about this over the last 10 years, you are talking about more than enough people to give the program the death penalty.

I haven't been following this situation all that much but I think they should not punish the fans and players who had nothing to due with this.

Why? I doubt anybody who knew was going around telling people. McQueary was there for 5 years and clearly he was taken aback by what he saw.

i think most people would be taken back at walking in on a 70 year old man raping a 10 year old boy in the shower

He saw it in 2001 or so. He was there since then. Janitors had seen it. This is something that was known and discussed by more than just a few people.
