He's a perfectly good leader. Even if the east is shite (it is), someone had to lead those teams there every year.
He's still a leader in the Finals. Difference is that the teams in the West are better. All the leadership in the world ain't gonna bridge the talent gap.

Indeed. Doesn't mean he isn't a leader, though. Just not enough of one to finish the job against deeper teams. No one person would be. The West is better as a collective.

Despite haters' claims to the contrary, the LBJ fans don't compare him to Jordan so there is really nothing to talk about after a win anymore. Slipping because usually the pendulum of LeBron reaction swings wildly the other way after his team wins in the Finals from my experience.
