based off the 1st round?? Detroit is horrendous...not saying he isn't...but the Pistons can't be the game that convinces you

Not taking away from Lebron, he is awesome and is very close. Kobe is still the best though

the gap is getting smaller and smaller every year, lebron is the better passer, driver and catching up in defense. Kobe is still ahead by a good margin in jump shooting.

Lebron is better...

technically lebron has closed the gap and surpassed kobe, at least statistically. lebron is currently playing at a level that kobe has never reached in his career in stats like PER, roland rating, net +/-, win shares, offensive win shares, defensive win shares, etc. basically from a statistical perspective lebron is playing at a level that no one has reached since jordan retired.
i guess it's debatable as to how valuable those advanced stats really are though

I know Lebron will always be compared to Jordan...Paul to Stockton/Isiah...and on and on...
but no matter what people say....the guys in 80s/90s did it while handcheckign was legal..you could actually commit hard fouls without being suspended.....and still put up those numbers they did..makes it that much more impressive

yeah i agree statistically he might be better, but kobe has been a great defender for a long time, and lebron has just become an elite on ball defender in the last year or 2. The intangibles for lebron have closed the gap immensely.

but the guys do it now while wearing Capri's so it's a push.

i'm not an nba fan (no offense) but lebron is the reason i watch and root for the cavs. been a fan since 2004.

I think this postseason will tell us a lot. LeBron and Kobe each have half of the best team in the league (Cavs' D, Lakers' O), so there really isn't an excuse for either.
Anyone basing any decision off of three games against Utah (who is average) and Detroit (who is garbage) is dumb.

Lebron is very close but i'd still give it slightly to Kobe for one reason. When the game is on the line, who do you want taking the shot? KOBE. Excluding last night of course D Wade isn't far behind either. I'd rather Wade take the shot over lebron and maybe even over Kobe. Dude is sick

They are very close....Lebron is only 24 and if he is not the best player in the league now, he will be soon...i also think that he will end up being the best to ever play the game
