Houston scores 9 runs in the 1st inning against Tulane.

What a shite weekend. It's not that this kills the RPI or anything, it's just that it could have helped it so much.

Running out of chances to boost the RPI enough to get at-large consideration, and now they've fallen back into a tie for first place in the American.

Really need a 3-1 week next week against LSU and ECU.

Demons up early against McNeese.

Could be what we need to get the season turned around.

Back to back series losses to McNeese and SLU and having Sam's season crushed by two Louisiana schools would make me the happiest person on the planet.

Cajuns complete the sweep 5-3 thanks to a 9th inning bomb from Steven Sensley. 8 wins in a row. 2 straight conference sweeps.

Cajuns have a tough week next week vs Texas in Sugarland and home vs McNeese before going to UTA which currently sits at #2 in the West.

Sensley is a man among boys. As someone wise once said.

And the women swept gsu as well. Good weekend in Cajun nation.

Kind of surprised LSU didn't go after Sensley. He dominated at LSUE and is from Baton Rouge. He struggled last season but he's tearing the freaking cover off the ball over the last month and a half. His batting average is up to .331 and he's slugging something like .700 over the month of April.

Yeah, true that.

Btw, I think I saw they dropped the series to Kentucky today?

Demons gave it away today against McNeese. Should have won the series but that is how this year has gone.

Congrats to the Cowboys.

Tulane's RPI at 81.

Need a 3-1 week to get that into the low 70s.

I wouldn't want to play Kentucky at their park. Their lineup is stacked with lefties and they have that short right field. They'll be dangerous if they get to host a regional.

McNeese wins the series with a 5-4 final today. First time since 1992 that McNeese wins a series at Northwestern.

With the Sam Houston loss today, McNeese holds a 2 game lead in the Southland.

This is also 5 straight conference losses for Sam Houston

McNeese at Sam Houston and ULL at UTA are easily the two biggest series for in-state teams this week. Both Cajuns and Cowboys have a chance to take total control of their respective conferences. Tough matchups with both series being on the road but both teams are very capable of winning each series.

Tulane looks to sweep LSU for the second straight year while the tigers look to rebound from Kentucky before facing Bama.

Big games on tap for next week:

Wednesday:

LSU at Tulane
McNeese at ULL

Weekend:

McNeese at Sam Houston
Tulane at ECU
ULL at UTA
