are they a young team?
No. Very experienced. Will lose a ton of guys after this season.

Just trying to figure out why they are so inconsistent.
They were very bad, then are now pretty good. A lot of people seem to be blaming the poor start partly on the players not meshing with the new coach. Something about not scrimmaging enough in pre-season and getting enough reps. Also, the starting pitching and bullpen was garbage early in the year. It's still not great now, but it's been a lot better lately.

Cajuns win 9-2.
Completely disagree with Robe extending Marks that long though

He did what he had to do. Post game interview Robe said Burk came in the dugout after the 2nd inning complaining of tightness in his forearm. So they pulled him in favor of Norman in order to not risk anything.
Norman gave us 4.2 solid innings and then Wyatt came in to shut things down. My guess is Jevin is still dealing with inflammation, and Wyatt was rolling so I don't mind him sticking it out.

Speaking of, Wyatt pitched 2.1 innings and had 7 Strikeouts. The guys is ridiculous. His command was a bit off tonight but still virtually unhittable.

At least in the 9th inning, with an 8 run lead, you can let Charpentier finish it out.

Until Charp gives up a granny and everyone's calling for Robe's head. Lol.
I think Robe was more worried about closing this one out than Little Rock this weekend. Could be a bad thing if Little Rock plays out of their mind. But I can't fault him for it.

He would've had to give up 2 grandslams before blowing the lead.

La Tech (23-13, 6-9)
Just noticed their record currently. I remember back when we played them and split the series they were a very respectable team. Have they had some injuries? Bad luck? or just started hot?

25-13 now. Won last 8 of 11 games. Hit a slump for a few weeks and played bad. Pitching was not good and neither was hitting at times. Crawling back in it and still have a good RPI. Hopefully they can keep it going and finish strong.

From Baseball America...
RPI moved up to 86 with the win tonight. :itsmaybehappening:

And the suddenly hot Green Wave could potentially enter the at-large picture. As of now, Tulane’s 18-19 overall record and No. 96 RPI isn’t enough, but if Tulane were to pad its conference lead and continue its recent winning ways, the Green Wave could join the field, as well.

2/3 would be enormous. 1/3 is likely

even with Romero gone, UH is really good. i think we only went 2-4 against them last year and I think we used 7-8 pitchers last night. we will really need France and Merrill to shine. really wish we were only playing them three times. also, seems like we are playing a very back loaded American schedule.
