Chick is freaking smoking hot. Trying to find a way to hollar at her for one of the extra tickets she was spouting off about.

What are y'all's thoughts on oaks?
Condo commando has looked fabulous from what I've seen and I prefer lovely Maria to chatterbox, I think.
Also interested in the Romans filly

If you were a woman and I wasn't already married, I would marry you. That is my favorite horse of all time and it's not close.

I don't follow the fillies near as much. I'd like to see the Jones fillies run 1-2.

My horse drew 18? That's no bueno! Hope he can glide the back and tear up the stretch. I am glad he proved he can run in traffic in Ar Derby.

I think you are wrong. In fact, so do most others. If you read bottom of page 3 and page 4 you'll probably change your mind.

My first reaction was bad too, but I've come to be happy about it. No traffic issues. I think it's right where he needs to be.

Oaks- like Birdatthewire over a closing Stellar Wind. Condo Commando holds on for third.
The problem with Big Brown wasn't just the owners. The trainer was FINALLY banned for life from the track after however umpteen drug violations. Coming from a colleague who would know, Big Brown probably had more EPO in his bloodstream than platelets during his Triple Crown run. He crashed hard off of it in the Belmont. There was no way the TPTB were going to make a stink about it that year after the horrific sight of Eight Belles post-Derby. But every time I hear someone say that Dortmund can get the mile and quarter because his sire did, I just laugh bitterly.
Anyone who is there, I like Upstart, but not the 19 hole for him. However, I noticed in a picture he seemed to have a skin condition on his neck. Are those just gray spots or actually bald spots?
I didn't like the way Materiality or Stanford went around this morning. Materiality just looked like he was laboring over the track. Stanford just looked ready to run off as soon as possible.
Danzig Moon and Carpe Diem both looked great, and I think they will run their race. Just not sure they are as fast as others.
I think Frosted ran his best race last time out.
Debating what to do with Upstart and the 19. I just see him getting parked 6 wide into the first turn. He doesn't quite have the turn of foot that an AP has to get better position. Far Right I think looks great and could easily help me collect the backend of the superfecta. He wasn't worked much between the Southwest and the Arkansas Derby, so I think he has some room to improve. He also finished up just fine in the Arkansas Derby.
I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I am very skeptical about the figures coming out of Florida this year. On one hand, the winners were well in front at the line, but I think the track craziness there skewed all the number guys. Just look at the difference in the Donn and the San Antonio figures, and then look at where California Chrome and Lea finished up in the DWC. Not exact science to be sure, but considering that Hoppertunity beat Constitution at CD and then finished up the track from the top 2 in the San Antonio also helps shed some light on those numbers.
The one piece of handicapping that has never failed me in the Derby though is that done based on names: bad names just don't win. So feel free to throw out 888, Materiality, Danzig Moon, Itsaknockout, and Keen Ice.

I think I read that upstart's issue is a switch from shavings to straw or vice versa.
More worried about 19 than bald spots.
My friend and I laughed at the whole setup at 3 chimneys "proving" that the shoe was the cause. It wasn't even a front show. Weak excuse. HATED him, his trainer, and his owners.
Now I hate his babies

I am trying the time formUS PPs this year. Will be interesting to see how I do with them. Then again, if i do crappily, not sure I can blame the PPs.

He just jogged on camera, but upstart looked amazing. Floated over the track and got a little long and low while stretching out. Beautiful mover and looks like a hunter
Mubtaahij opened up down the stretch and looked nice too.
