And this says it all.

if you are the best talent, from a ratings generating standpoint, at a station and still get let go, that means that you are not worth the bullshite that comes with you

Josh can definitely do well in radio. He is not a lead guy. His multiple failures over the years prove this to be true. For those reasons....

You also know that Charlie Pallilo has to absolutely love Josh being on the radio right after him. Josh spent his first months on 790 continuously crapping all over Charlie and his former show.

Yep. And Charlie forgot more about sports than Innes ever knew. Never understood what 790 was doing letting CP go for that turd.

Charlie is sports dork radio, and there is a market for it. I am not that market.

My guess is that Charlie was let go from 790 for the reasons that many hosts are let go: lack of ratings and lack of sponsorships.

JI got the boot when a new PD came in

Radio is a funny business. You can be #1 and still get the boot. AJ was #1 in Austin and got fired for example. Glad he did because it brought him to Houston.

Barry and Raheel both let go as #1 shows in their slots

Jayson Braddock got fricked over by JI on 790 too

He’s one of the few hosts in town who is not a shill for the local teams.

That said, I think over time he has sort of gone overboard trying not to be a homer. He’s gotten a little grouchy the last few years.

It is not funny at all. Barry said as much on his last day with the station. he specifically stated that the reason that he believed he was being let go is because he did not have any sponsors that he had brought to the station since his employment began.

it is a business. You can talk sports as much as you want and as well as anyone, but you have to be able to bring in money as well. People are let go in that business when they are not bringing in revenue. Your spot in the ratings does not really matter when you're not making the station any money.

Is that a fact that Josh Innes was #1 when he was fired? It’s hard to believe because I don’t know a single person that could stand listening to him.

I remember listening to Innes and Blake(?) in the am before my first 8am class when I went to LSU back in the day.

Did Josh get run out of BR? I just remembering him arguing a lot, What happened to Blake his co host?

During his last stint with his girlfriend and Jim Mudd, I recall Josh bragging about his ratings from his stint before that one. Then, a few months later, he was complaining about how listeners through his app (iHeart radio maybe?) did not get included within ratings. He felt that his show was much more popular and ratings would reflect it if everything counted.

I used to think he was entertaining in small doses but he often got defensive and emotional about trivial things.
