ray rice knocked out a female...and judging by how fricking huge he is and how strong he is, he didn't need to...there isn't a first time offenders forgiveness...
Jesus man, can you read. Not once did i say i agrees with ray rice suspension. He should have got more. I simply said it was his first time in trouble with law and that was probably why nfl only gave him 2. Never once agreed with it

where did you get the actual amount that was in his system?
The levels were so low that he would have passed Olympic level testing.

You are really starting to get annoying. No one is arguing against that either. We are arguing about the NFL and it's ridiculous hypocrisy and about your claim that Gordon is a Thug POS.
so everyone else can have an opinion but me? my bad

from a doctor, on the 2nd hand smoke claim. Basically you would have to sit in a feaking box for a period of time with bo air circulating to test positive for 2nd hand smoke "obviously the nfl knew that which is why his little claim didnt stand up in his case"
It is entirely plausible when you actually look at how much THC was in his system

Sorry guys but MDS has this one right.
It's not simply a case of something stupid being in the rulebook. This stupid thing was collectively bargained with the players; they were cool with signing off on it.
They made the decision that minicamp practices were worth fighting for more than a sensible recreational drug policy. When do the players and NFLPA start getting slammed for signing off this?

I would like to see a timeline of his drug tests prior to the failed test. Wasn't he taking multiple tests per week?

It doesn't matter...we're talking about the inconsistency of the NFL rules and their enforcement
Do you know what a TPOS is...a guy who thinks in his personal judgment that wife beater ray should get 2 weeks and Josh Gordon should get 16 games...we've arrived here because of Goodell and he has the ability here to display some moral consistency...especially easy because of the amount of THC in Gordon's system and how their a and b sampling system works retardedly...but he won't let it die...and Gordon getting an injunction is a win/win...he meets out "justice" because he's a TPOS, and people forget about it because Gordon gets to play...when he wins in court and suspends him, people won't be comparing it to ray rice and asking very good questions

this is it exactly. the players knew the rules and the punishments, and they signed the line agreeing to it. if they did not agree with this set of rules, then they would've bargained for a more sensible set of punishment. comparing this to Ray Rice is a fair point, but not to the extent of Gordon's punishment. His is just. The comparison ought to be inverse to show the idiocy of Rice only getting 2 games. He needed a year at least. Gordon's is legit based on his agreement to play in the league

no one is saying players are not responsible, etc...I'm unconcerned with that
I'm starting to get to the point where I cannot support the NFL because they have taken the stance with their ACTIONS that
"omg/horrible" is worse than violence
smoking reefer is worse than violence

Yes. Before and after. There is no way that he could have A) failed for such a minuscule amount had he smoked B) Passed the subsequent tests had he smoked.

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, Gordon landed in Stage III of the program last year as part of a negotiated two-game suspension for the use of cough syrup that contained codeine. Once in Stage III, a player never leaves. And he must pass up to 10 drug tests per month.
According to the source, Gordon has passed at least 70 drug tests.

That was a quote from 2007.
You also left out this part:
quote:
In the U.S., the standard for a positive test result is 2,000 nanograms of the drug per milliliter. "A person would need to sit in a cloud of smoke so dense their eyes would sting before they tested positive," he said.
His quote doesn't really apply for this.
So 2,000 is a hell of a lot more than:
quote:
The NFL is no ordinary employer. The Shield is standing up to the Cheech and Chongification of America on behalf of our youth with its 15ng/mL threshold. A testing standard at that level might give Josh Gordon's claim some merit.

that's not what they are saying. what they are in fact saying is that repeatedly violating their mutually agreed upon rules is worse than violence. depending on the situation I may agree with them. The Rice situation I do not, but that is more due to the failure to properly punish Rice. However, having a blatant disrespect of rules and laws is not something to be brushed aside as just a minor thing that everybody does. Gordon is a repeated violator, and he has displayed that he can give two shits about the rules of the league. He puts himself above the shield, and that is a big no no.

I cannot believe after all the attention the weak ray rice suspension received, that this isn't on the news
talk about damaging the shield...while peter king is crying about redskins no one is smearing this poo poo back in the NFL's face
