quote:I love NBA " Redrafts" & King was a " safe" ,but bad pick if you were looking for a PF/ C in 1989 ..........
ok draft in 89 (BJ Armstrong at 18, good. Stacey King
-Shawn Kemp was passed @17- ouch! Stud HS baller with issues when they HS players weren't drafted.
-Vlade Divac @ 26
-Cliff Robinson @ 36 - a very underappreciated athletic stud & stretch 4/5 who would thrive in today's game.
-Dino Rada @ 40
-Pervis Ellison & Danny Ferry(PF/C) went 1 & 2 overall . Bad stuff all around.

People forget that Mike had a pretty gruesome index finger injury on his shooting hand in the offseason in the Bahamas. He would have missed two months of the 99 lockout shortened season. With injury concerns regarding everyone else, would the bulls have even made the playoffs?

Michael claimed his mind was made up to leave the NBA before he cut his finger.
After word got out about the procedure to fix the tendon in his index finger, Michael shut down rumors concerning the future of his career. "My decision [to retire] was made before this happened, and from what doctors have told me, that even if I chose to play, I wouldn't be able to play for two months," he reportedly said at the time.

In hindsight, taking a chance on the older team going for a 4-peat is better than ANYTHING they have done since.
How many finals have they been in since they broke up the team in 1998?

They got kind of a bad deal with Rose breaking down. They were almost legit when he was 100%. Just bad luck.
