Looks like the salary cap for the salary cap is 58 million.
OKC would be at 69 million for 2013-14 with Harden getting a max deal.
Someone figure up their luxury tax I don't really get how it works.
Tax levels from 2013–14
Amount over tax Standard tax Repeat offender tax
$5 million or less $1.50 $2.50
$5 million to $10 million $1.75 $2.75
$10 million to $15 million $2.50 $3.50
$15 million to $25 million $3.25 $4.25
They would be a repeat offender tax at $3.50.

Starting in 2013–14, the tax changes to an incremental system. Tax will be assessed at different levels based on the amount that a team is over the luxury tax threshold. The scheme is not cumulative—each level of tax applies only to amounts over that level's threshold. For example, a team that is $8 million over the tax threshold will pay $1.50 for each of its first $5 million over the tax threshold, and $1.75 per dollar for the remaining $3 million.

i was thinking the same thing, the way he played in the finals, and he thinks he deserves KD type money? he could be worth it in the future, but not right now.

Thunder salaries
Luxury Tax doesn't start till around 74m. It wouldn't be a huge issue the first season or two, but after that I could see them having major problems. They could amnesty Perkins, but with Dwight with the Lakers they kind of need him.
As far as whether Harden is worth the max. He's a top 5, probably top 3 SG in the league. Scarce resources and all that. Also, people have to remember max isn't the same for everyone. Even at his max he's getting paid 4m or so less than Durant a year.

KD's contract is for 19 million on average.
Hardens max deal would be 15, not exactly KD type money, slightly less than Westbrook money.
Well worth it, no question.

It wasn't a retweet, and I don't follow the fake Woj. And yet I still clicked his profile to make sure I saw the blue check. All to make sure it was real.
