columbia is having their first winning season in forever and some sjw's aren't too happy about it. you honestly can't make this shite up.

some highlights:

quote:

When I went to Columbia, we prided ourselves on being anti-football and pro-intellectual. Can’t we retain our pride in being anti-athletic intellectual

quote:

For him, today’s Lions symbolize a cheerful, rah-rah Columbia that he derides as “Princeton on the Hudson.”

Why can’t you be intellectual and strong athletically?

The undergraduates at Columbia can be so fricking weird sometimes

ETA: They had safe spaces for undergraduates after the election. The law and business schools are a lot less snowflaky.

ETA2: That article is really, really bad. Basically just says some people are happy the team is winning and a couple aren't as happy the team is winning. Give them a fricking Pulitzer

You would think if they actually prided themselves as being anti athletics they wouldn't have an athletic program.

To your point though, I would guess there's a pretty strong inverse relationship between team gpa and win percentage over the majority of college football.

Believe me, the guys that play columbia football are not even close to the actual students at the school.

Even the Ivy's take in athletes who shouldn't be there.

Most of them guys that just got 1100s on their SATs and had atleast a 3.0 GPA.

Seems like most of the people in that article are happy about them winning... like this guy who seems to get it.

quote:

Mr. Holtje dismissed any notions that Columbia’s current football prowess might overshadow the university’s emphasis on academics. “It’s sufficiently obvious that we will not be Ohio State,” he said, “so we don’t have to worry — even if we have an undefeated season.”

Wow. So the only way to be pro-intellectual is to be anti-football, eh? That explains why there's a bunch of retards at Bama!

Did you read the article? One person was a "snowflake" the rest were just cynical New York assholes who didn't want to believe they were winning because they didn't want to dash their hopes.

Did you guys actually read the article?

The vast majority of people they talk to aren't "sjw's" or "snowflakes."
They're just so used to losing that they can't come to grips with success, and they're concerned that they'll lose it all again.

I know my fellow saints fans must have felt that way in the mid 2000's.

OP is straight click - bait.

I am sure I could find a few sport-hating academics in Tuscaloosa. Stupid article.

No it's the NY times.

My SEC education is not intelligent enough to have the attention span or brain capacity to be able to read all that.
