that ain't really how they are playing it....but they were pushed into a corner...

shaw opw game.. opw had about 40 fans.. shaw - 3500...

catholic league will get their own district(which in a roundabout way is what helped start this)...which has been discussed before... the publics need them for non district and vice versa..

That's exactly how it comes across as them playing it to me. Heck, that long letter quoted from a catholic school official in the first post pretty much said "we're not talking about actually leaving, just threatening to leave". Not sure why they let that thing go public

One game stats can say anything - I've seen Lutcher outdraw Redemptorist at a playoff game played at Redemporist.

I like the catholic schools. Sent my daughter to one. Went to one myself through 8th grade. And to be honest, I don't think the underlying issue in this matter has much to do with the Catholic schools at all.

But it kind of seems to me from reading the quotes in the two articles linked at the start of the thread and he posts on here like they have kind of an overinflated opinion of themselves.

And from reading on the two threads on here it seems like the select school supporters really just resort to threats, snide comments and unsubstantiated assertions about how much they bring to the table finance wise.

I hope they can work things out but if it was me making the decisions I wouldn't be bullied. Appease once and it becomes a habitual thing.

I don't buy this at all. The 80 something teams would have nightmare logistically. It would expensive and a pain in the arse especially for the spread out north LA private schools. There would be a lot more travel in sports like basketball and baseball. Those teams play 30 plus game schedules. If it made sense for them to break away from the LHSAA they would be doing it already. The private schools aren't going anywhere.

Notice I said "SOUTH LA" private schools.

There's a shite-ton of them in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and all points in between, let alone additional ones in Lafayette, Lake Charles, etc.

The reason the schools haven't done anything already is that they still feel there are possible ways to address this clusterfrick without a split.

If the LHSAA goes ahead with this and these schools feel like second-class citizens, the idea of a split becomes much more serious.
